Sonia MR Oliveira
Doctor Sonia Oliveira holds a Licenciatura in Biology (pre-Bologna) and a Master in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Aveiro, where she also specialized in medicinal plants, toxicology, murine models, and spermatogenesis. In 2011 she moved to Australia to work in Reproductive Biological Sciences. She later explored the nerve-cancer connection in Cancer, namely in female cancers, and completed her Ph.D. in Human Physiology ( with a significant component in Medical Biochemistry and Neurophysiology) from the University of Newcastle (Australia) in 2018. She then worked with biomimetic systems and nanotechnology in diabetes and stem cells. She explored multiple methods for primary and secondary cell culture, always with a keen interest in histopathology, cell biology, and rare disorders. Participated in >40 event(s). (Co-)Supervised MSc dissertation(s) and final projects for course completion of LSc/BSc. And works mostly in the area(s) of Natural sciences with emphasis on Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Medical and Health Sciences with emphasis on Neurosciences, Cancer, Reproduction, Toxicology, Biotechnology, and Stem cells. Also has collaborations in Microbiology, Biomaterials, and Communication and Information technologies.
Worradorn Phairuang
Dr. Worradorn Phairuang is a Lecturer at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. His main research focuses on the chemical and physical characteristics of airborne nanoparticles. His interests cover all the natural and anthropogenic sources, particularly biomass burning including forest fire and agricultural residue burning. He is very interested in emission inventory from biomass burning in Thailand and Asian countries.
Davor Plavec
Davor Plavec, MD, MSc, PhD, is Professor of Occupational Health and Sports Medicine. Born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1962, Prof. Plavec graduated in 1987, and received his master's degree in 1991, and his doctorate in 1999 at the Medical Faculty, University of Zagreb. In 2004 he specialized in occupational medicine, and in 2009 he became the Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek. In 2013 he specialized in sports medicine, and in 2019 became Full Professor within the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek. Prof. Plavec is Lecturer at the Medical Faculty of the University of Zagreb (study in English) and at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health in Osijek. Since 2005 he has been working at the Srebrnjak Children's Hospital as an Assistant Director for the quality of health care, and Head of the Research department where his field of work is improving the quality of health care, clinical research, sports medicine, allergy, pulmonology and cardiopulmonary function diagnostics. He is a member of a number of professional societies of the Croatian Medical Association in which he has held or is holding responsible positions for several terms, as well as the European Respiratory Society and the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology. During his scientific and professional work, he has published more than 300 publications, of which more than 110 articles are in peer-reviewed journals with more than 2000 citations.

My research at the Cawthron Institute is highly applied and consist of developing multi-trophic molecular tools for environmental monitoring of marine industries (e.g. aquaculture farms, marine biosecurity in ports and marinas, and deep-sea exploration).
At the University of Auckland, I combine 'real-world' and 'blue-sky' research applications, including; i) investigating functional underpinnings of Symbiodiniaceae in coral reef ecosystems, ii) characterizing microbiomes in aquaculture and natural settings, iii) measuring eDNA and eRNA decay rates in marine invertebrates and vertebrates, iv) studying preferential settlement of marine invasive species associated with marine plastic debris, and v) exploring the diversity and dynamics of open-ocean plankton communities in the Pacific and beyond.

Current scientific work areas include: 1) individualized mathematical modeling of thermoregulatory responses to clothing, environment, activities, with the inclusion of components for rest and recovery, 2) studies of metabolic costs over complex terrain, 3) real-time assessments of ground reaction forces and energy demands during locomotion and load carriage, and 4) innovative approaches to data management and the application of mathematics in integrative physiology.
Rommel T J Ramos
The Rommel Ramos Professor of Bioinformatics of Federal University of Para (Brazil) affiliated member of Brazilian Science Academy and CNPq Researcher (level 1-D). Since 2008 works with genome assembly and RNA-Seq analysis, he is the leader of the bioinformatic development group of the Biologic Engineering Laboratory in Park of Science and Technology (Pará/Brazil).

Syed Hassan Shah
Syed Hassan Shah is a Wi-Fi connectivity subject matter expert with the Qualcomm Inc. product management team, where he is involved in Consumer and Compute Wireless products with a focus on Mi-Fi, CPE, and UWB technologies. In addition to that, Dr. Shah is also an adjunct faculty member at California State University, Fullerton Campus, where he teaches computer science courses to graduate classes. Over the past decade, Dr. Shah held multiple industrial & academic roles such as a Product Specialist for Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), CBRS, Private LTE, Digital Electricity, and open RAN product lines. Dr. Shah was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Georgia Southern University, USA followed by a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, USA. Before moving to the United States, he completed his BS with honors in CS from Kohat University of Science & Technology (KUST), Pakistan, and his Ph.D. Degree (combined with Masters) from the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE), Kyungpook National University (KNU), Republic of Korea (South Korea). During the summer of 2015, he was invited as a distinguished visiting researcher at Georgia Tech, Atlanta, USA to investigate MAC layer findings in IEEE 1609.4 protocol stacks. Overall, Dr. Shah has authored/co-authored over 250 peer-reviewed international publications including Journal articles, Conference Proceedings, Book Chapters, and 05 books. In 2016, his work on robust content retrieval in future vehicular networks won the Qualcomm Innovation Award at KNU, South Korea. Dr. Shah's research interests include Wireless and Ad hoc Networks, Cyber-Physical Systems, Smart Cities, Connected Vehicles, and Future Internet architectures.
Furthermore, Dr. Shah is a Senior IEEE and ACM member, served as a TPC Member or Reviewer in over 100 International Conferences and Workshops including IEEE Globecom, IEEE ICC, IEEE CCNC, IEEE ICNC, IEEE VTC, IEEE INFOCOM, ACM CoNEXT, ACM MobiHoc, ACM SAC, and many more. Furthermore, he has been reviewing papers for over 50 different International Journals including IEEE Magazines on Wireless Communications, Networks, Communications, IEEE Communications Letters, IEEE Sensors Letters, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, and Vehicular Technologies, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Big Data, and Mobile Computing. Moreover, Dr. Shah has been an editorial member of more than 60 Special Issues with top-ranked journals in Communication Society and served as an editorial board member of KSII Transactions on Internet & Information Systems, Wiley's Internet Technology Letters, Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, IEEE Newsletters on Internet Initiative, Future Directions, and Software Defined Networks. Julia Warnberg
Dr. Julia Warnberg, with a degree in Nutrition (2001) and a PhD in Medicine (2006), currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Nursing at the University of Málaga's School of Health Sciences.
She is the coordinator of the research group EpiPHAAN (Epidemiology, Physical Activity, and Nutrition), which includes three senior researchers, three collaborating senior researchers, three postdoc researchers, and four doctoral candidates. The group also hosts postdoc researchers for research stays.
The group's research focus is primarily on conducting clinical trials related to the Mediterranean Diet and promoting physical activity. Additionally, they study the lifestyles of children and adolescents, particularly in the context of obesity, physical activity, and nutrition. The group is actively involved in developing methods and analyzing motion sensor data (accelerometers) for assessing physical activity.
Haikun Zhao
I am a full Professor in the College of Atmospheric Science at Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST), China. I received my Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from NUIST in 2012. I have been working on tropical cyclones and climate change, seasonal and intra-seasonal tropical cyclone forecasts since 2007. I have published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Nature Communications, Journal of Climate, and Geophysical Research Letters.
