At HP Labs Mary has worked on a diverse set of topics including digital preservation, user experiences for desktop and mobile video conferencing, wearables, mobile systems and applications, and design for 3D print. Before coming to HP Labs she was on the faculty of the computer science department at Stanford University where she led the MosquitoNet and Mobile People projects. She and her students also helped design and test the distributed audit and repair protocol for the LOCKSS digital preservation system.
Wolfgang Banzhaf is University Research Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Memorial U. of Newfoundland. He received a "Diplom in Physik" degree in Physics from the LMU Munich and his Dr.rer.nat (PhD) from the Dept. of Physics of the TH Karlsruhe, now KIT. After a postdoc at the U. of Stuttgart, he was a Visiting and Senior Researcher at the Central Research Lab of Mitsubishi Electric in Japan and at MERL in Cambridge, USA. From 1993 to 2003 he was Assoc. Prof. for Appl. CS at TU Dortmund.

Research interests are in understanding how coastal margins function under the complex influence of rivers, ocean, climate and humans – and how to integrate such understanding in broad-range societal decisions on sustainable development.
Christine L. Borgman, Professor & Presidential Chair in Information Studies at UCLA, is the author Big Data, Little Data, No Data ( 2015), Scholarship in the Digital Age (2007) and From Gutenberg to the Global Information Infrastructure (2000), and about 200 other publications in information studies, computer science, and communication. She is a Fellow of the ACM and of AAAS; and a member of the Board of Directors of the Electronic Privacy Information Center.
Nirupama Bulusu is a Professor of Computer Science at Portland State University. She received her Ph.D from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2002, and her B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1997, in Computer Science.Her research interests span networking, data analytics and information security and privacy. She is a recipient of the NSF CAREER award for her work in trustworthy participatory sensing.
Current research is focused on testing & design-for-testability of integrated circuits; digital microfluidics, biochips, & cyberphysical systems; optimization of digital print and production system infrastructure. Currently an ACM Distinguished Speaker & has been a Distinguished Visitor of the IEEE Computer Society. Recipient of many awards, including the Humboldt Research Award. Editor-in-Chief of ACM Journal on Emerging Technologies in Computing Systems and IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems.
Dr. Mukund Chorghade is President and Chief Scientific Officer, THINQ Pharma / MVRC Research/ Chicago Discovery Solutions. He has had Adjunct Research Professor / Visiting Fellow / Scientists appointments at Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Cambridge, Caltech, Univ. of Chicago, Rutgers, Strathclyde and others. He provides synthetic chemistry and pharmaceutical development expertise to academic laboratories, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies. His research interests are in Traditional Medicine derived New Chemical Entities and the discovery of “chemosynthetic livers” that find utility in drug metabolism, valorization of biomass and environmental remediation.
Dr. Chorghade earned B. Sc. M. Sc. degrees from the University of Poona, and a Ph. D. at Georgetown University. He completed postdoctoral appointments at the University of Virginia and Harvard, visiting scientist appointments at University of British Columbia, College de France / Universite’ Louis Pasteur, Cambridge and Caltech and directed research groups at Dow Chemicals, Abbott Laboratories, CytoMed and Genzyme. He received three “Scientist of the Year Awards”, and is on the Scientific Advisory Board of several corporations / foundations. He is a Fellow of the ACS, AAAS, AIC and RSC, the Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telengana Academy of Sciences and has been a featured speaker in national and international symposia

Olga De Troyer has a Masters degree in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences. She has held research positions in industry and at universities. Since 1998 she is professor in the Computer Science Department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) where she is co-director of the WISE research lab. Her research focus is on conceptual modeling formalisms and design methodologies. Over the years, the focus has moved from Database over Web systems towards Virtual Reality and Serious Games.
