The research interest of Hani Abdelhamid is focused broadly on science and technology at the nanoscale and for material science to push scientific boundaries in diverse areas of biochemistry, biology, biomedicine biotechnology, nanocatalysis and laser based analytical. The main thrusts are concentrated on the topics as below:
1) Nanotechnology: synthesis, characterization, and applications.
2) Material Chemistry, synthesis, characterization, and applications.
3) Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), synthesis, characterization, and applications.
4) Inorganic and structural chemistry.
5) Analytical Chemistry.
6) Solar cells and Nanocatalysis.
7) Nano-Biomedicine and Nano-Biotechnology.
8) Biochemistry and Biochemical research methods.
9) Metallodrug-protein interactions using Nanomaterials based- laser analytical tools.
10) Biosensor based on nanomaterials for pathogenic bacteria and biomolecules.
Research fields include translational research, invasion, metastasis, disseminated tumor cells, transcription, tumor-associated proteolysis, targeted therapy, micro-RNA, molecular staging of cancer. Dr Andersson is an Assistant Professor in Experimental Neurology at Lund University and group leader of Cellular Neurophysiology and Epilepsy group. Her research focuses on underlying mechanisms of and new treatments for epilepsy in the developing brain. This is done using different methods, the main one being electrophysiology, in vivo and in vitro.
Director of the Cambridge Centre for Neuropsychiatric Research at Cambridge University. Practising clinician (with an Honorary Consultant position in General Adult Psychiatry at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge). Co-founder of Psynova Neurotech Ltd. Dr. Oluwaseun Adebayo Bamodu is a Medical Research Fellow in the Department of Urology at Tapein Medical University - Shuang Ho Hospital. His research interests include: Precision Medicine, Breast Cancer, Cancer Research, Cancer Stem Cells, Immuno-oncology, Cancer Diagnostics, Therapeutics and Prognosis, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Functional Urology, and Genitourinary Malignancies.
Dr. Zarrin Basharat is Associate Professor at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi. Her current research focus is on microbial genomics using NGS.
Dr. Lalit Batra is a Research Scientist within the Center for Predictive Medicine at the University of Louisville.
His research interests/output includes:
- Evaluation of efficacy Q-Griffithsin and AS1411 against SARS-CoV2 infection in hamsters, ferrets and hACE2 mice.
- Cancer Immunoprevention using a novel CD137 receptor agonist SA-4-1BBL molecule.
- Evaluated and published the role of novel SA-4-1BBL molecule as stand-alone monotherapeutics agent for Cancer Immunoprevention against TC-1, huMUC-1 and 3LL mouse tumor models.
- Evaluating the monotherapeutic role of SA-4-1BBL molecule against variety of tumor models such as melanoma, lymphoma, breast cancer and spontaneous cancer models.
- Vaccine approaches using SA-4-1BBL molecule against Yersinia pestis Infection (ABSL3).
- Evaluated and published the role of SA-4-1BBL as an adjuvant with the lead Y. pestis antigen (rF1-V) against lethal pneumonic plague challenge in BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice.
- Development of immunomodulatory protocols for overcoming allograft rejection for Type I Diabetes Mellitus (T1D).
- Evaluated and published the efficacy of immunomodulatory molecules such as SA-PDL1, SA-FasL and SA-CD47 for prevention of allograft rejection in chemically diabetic Mouse models.
- Evaluating the efficacy of SA-FasL for reversal of diabetes in recent-onset NOD mice.
Pawel received his DVM from Lublin University of Life Sciences, Poland in 2008. He also holds a Wellcome Trust PhD from the University of Glasgow. His research has focused on virus evolution in the progression of natural feline immunodeficiency virus infection. Pawel also is a practitioner and an EBVS European and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
Dr Beczkowski has a broad interest in small animal internal medicine, companion animal virology, virus discovery, and cross-species transmission. His particular interest lies in the evolution of virus-host interactions with a view to pair it with clinical applications for the diagnosis, preventive strategies and treatment of viral diseases.

Dr. Berghout received her PhD in Biochemistry from McGill University in Montreal, QC where she researched the genetics of complex traits and susceptibility to infectious disease in humans and mouse models. Following that, she spent three years as the Outreach Coordinator for the Mouse Genome Informatics (MGI) database in Bar Harbor, ME. There, she trained researchers in genetics, genomics, data structures and data mining to answer biological questions, and worked closely with other members of the MGI group to develop and optimize the MGI resource. Now her research interests include genetics of all kinds, personalized medicine, big data, and scientific communication. She is currently pursuing projects in precision medicine for analysis of transcriptome data from patients with rare lung diseases (Sarcoidosis, Coccidiomycosis), and integrative network analysis of complex traits including Alzheimer's Disease. She is currently appointed at the University of Arizona's Center for Biomedical Informatics and Biostatistics (CB2) and The Center for Genetics and Genomic Medicine (TCG2M) in Tucson, AZ.
I am a movement disorders neuropsychiatrist. My research is primarily focused on neuroimaging and dopamine, especially in people with Tourette syndrome and Parkinson disease. I have also developed methods for structural imaging volumetry, analysis of brain images in nonhuman species, pharmacological fMRI (phMRI), and statistical analysis of anatomy-function relationships in deep brain stimulation (DBS).
