Ghufran Ahmad

Ghufran Ahmad's research focuses on microeconomic theory specifically dealing with resource allocation, social choice, and matching problems. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at NUST Business School, Pakistan.

He received his B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan in 2012. After that, he joined Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, USA to pursue his Ph.D. in Economics, completing it in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Guoqiang Tian and Dr. Vikram Manjunath.

Irfan Ahmad

Dr. Irfan Ahmad is an Assistant Professor in Information and Computer Science department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He received his PhD in Computer Science from TU Dortmund, Germany in 2017.
Dr. Ahmad's research interests are in the areas of pattern recognition especially in document-image analysis, handwriting recognition, and machine-printed text recognition. In addition, he is also interested in machine learning and its applications including deep learning and natural language processing (NLP).

Vicente Alarcon-Aquino

Vicente Alarcon-Aquino received his Ph.D. and D.I.C. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London, London, U.K. in 2003. He is currently a full Professor and former department head in the department of computing, electronics, and mechatronics at the Universidad de las Americas Puebla, Mexico. In 2017, he spent a short-term research stay as a Visiting Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Informatics at King's College London, UK. He has authored over 180 research articles in several refereed journals and conference proceedings, has written a book on MPLS networks, and has several citations to his research articles. He has served as Guest Editor for the Journal of Universal Computer Science, and is currently acting as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access Journal and as an Academic Editor for PeerJ Computer Science. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, belongs to the Mexican National System of Researchers, and has been elected to membership of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. His current research interests include cybersecurity, network monitoring, anomaly detection, wavelet analysis, and machine learning.

Giovanni Angiulli

Giovanni Angiulli received the Laurea (Master's degree) in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Calabria (Italy) and the Dottorato di Ricerca (PhD degree) in Electronics and Computer Science Engineering from the University of Napoli Federico II, Italy, in 1993 and 1998, respectively. Since 1999, he has been with the Department of Information, Infrastructures, and Sustainable Energy (DIIES, formerly DIMET) at the University Mediterranea of Reggio Calabria, Italy, as an Adjunct Professor. His main research activities concern Computational Electromagnetics, Group Theory methods, and Surrogate ModellingTechniques applied to model microwave circuits and antennas. He also worked on microwave imaging to detect female breast tumors and Ground Penetrating Radar applications in cultural heritage in the last years. He is a Senior Member of IEEE (2015) and a Member of IEICE (2013). In addition, he serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access. In recognition of his exceptional contributions, he has been honoured as an Outstanding Associate Editor for 2018 by the IEEE Access Editorial Board. He served as a Guest Editor for Mathematics (MDPI) Special Issue on “Surrogate modeling and related methods in science and engineering” (2021).

Aswani Kumar Cherukuri

Dr. Aswani Kumar Cherukuri is a Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India. His research interests include information security and machine learning. Aswani Kumar earned the Young Scientist Fellowship from Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology and was awarded the Inspiring Teacher Award from The Indian Express (India’s leading English daily newspaper). He has worked on various research projects funded by the Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Atomic Energy, and the Ministry of Human Resources Development. Aswani Kumar has published more than 150 refereed research articles in various national/international journals and conferences and is an editorial board member for several international journals. He is a Senior Member and distinguished speaker of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Vice-Chair of the IEEE Taskforce on Educational Data Mining. Aswani Kumar earned a PhD in informational retrieval, data mining, and soft-computing techniques from VIT.

Andrea Esuli

Andrea Esuli is a senior researcher of the Italian National Research Council. His research interests are in the fields of multimedia information retrieval, machine learning, and text classification. He holds a PhD in Information Engineering from the University of Pisa. He is the recipient of the 2010 Cor Baayen Award, from the European Research Council for Informatics and Mathematics.

Ana G Maguitman

Ana Gabriela Maguitman is a Researcher at the National Council for Science and Technology (CONICET) of Argentina and an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina). She obtained her PhD in Computer Science at Indiana University (USA). Dr. Maguitman leads the Knowledge Management and Information Retrieval Research Group at Universidad Nacional del Sur (

Khalid Raza

Khalid Raza is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi. Dr. Raza has been honored with “ICCR Chair Visiting Professor” by Indian Council for Cultural Relation (ICCR), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of India and deputed at the Faculty of Computer & Information Sciences, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt during academic session 2017-18. He has over 10 years of teaching and research experience in the field of Translational Bioinformatics and Computational Intelligence applications in healthcare. He has contributed over 75 research articles in reputed Journals and Edited Books. He has authored/edited books with reputed publishers including Springer, Elsevier and CRC. He has reviewed over 150 research articles for reputed Journals/Conferences in the last 5 years. Dr. Raza has delivered several keynote addresses, invited talks, public lectures, and seminars in National and International conferences, workshops, and chaired technical sessions at various conferences. He has served as the technical program committee members of several international conferences and workshops. He has also executed two Indian governments funded research projects. Dr. Raza is a member of MIR Lab (USA), CSI (India), and SCRS (India). His research interest includes Computational Intelligence methods and its applications in Bioinformatics and Health-informatics.

Nicolas P Rougier

I’m a full-time research scientist at Inria. This is a public scientific and technological establishment (EPST) under the double supervision of the Research & Education Ministry, and the Ministry of Economy Finance and Industry. I’m working at the frontier between integrative and computational neuroscience in association with the Institute of Neurodegenerative Diseases, the Laboratoire Bordelais de Recherche en Informatique, the University of Bordeaux and the CNRS. My research deals with decision-making, self-organization, spatial computing, artificial neural networks & open science.

He has served as the student activities chair of IEEE Communication Society Chengdu Chapter and several international conferences technical program committee (TPC) members, Section Chair, and Special Track Chair. He is now serving as an Area Editor of the Elsevier Physical Communication, Associate Area Editor of Journal of Electronics & Information Technology, and Editor of the Elsevier Computer Communications, PeerJ Computer Science, PLOS ONE, and Frontiers in Signal Processing for Communications, and a Managing Guest Editor of Elsevier Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems, and IEEE Communications Society Technical Committee on Green Communications and Computing (TCGCC) and Signal Processing and Computing for Communications (SPCC) Members.
