Ilaria Negri
PhD in Animal Biology, University of Bologna, Italy
Master Degree in Food Safety and Environmental Health, University of Piacenza, Italy. I have a background in molecular and evolutionary biology, applying different techniques (TEM, ISH, FISH, RNAseq, qPCR) for the study of insect/symbiont associations. My interests also include the use of bioindicators and bioaccumulators for monitoring environmental pollutants, including airborne PM.
Mario Alberto Flores-Valdez
Dr. Mario Alberto Flores-Valdez is a Professor in the Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Unit, CIATEJ, A.C., Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico (2007-present). He is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), and a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. He was a Stanford University Medical Center postdoctoral fellow (2004-2007), where he received a Dean's Fellowship Award (2006) to conduct research on Tuberculosis. He worked in UNAM as Research Assistant for Prof. Jaime Mora (2004) and Prof. Emundo Calva (2003). He has received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UNAM (1999-2003), a M.Sc. in Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering from UANL (1996-1999) and a B.Sc. from Universidad de Sonora (1991-1996) in Chemistry and Biology. He received fellowships from CONACYT for M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies and in M.Sc. and B.Sc. has received Diplomas as Best Student. He has expertise in Tuberculosis, particularly in developing recombinant BCG strains. He has been PI for 7 grants from 2008 to date, focused in studies about tuberculosis vaccine development and basic aspects of mycobacterial physiology.

Former President, International Society of Cancer Metabolism. MD (1979), PhD (1985), Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine; National License of Physician and Surgeon, Japan (1979). He was Professor and Chairperson, Departments of Molecular Cell Physiology and Bio-Ionomics, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Japan, and Director and Professor, Japan Institute for Food Education and Health, St. Agnes’ University. He was awarded “Vebleo Nanomedicine Scientist Award” (Sweden), “Marco Polo della Scienza Italiana” (Italy), The Premier's Research Excellence Award (Canada), Scholar Award (Medical Research Council of Canada) and Research Award from National Kidney Foundation of USA. Siddhartha Bhattacharyya
Dr. Siddhartha Bhattacharyya is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Christ University, Bangalore. He is a co-author of 5 books and the co-editor of 60 books and has more than 300 research publications in international journals and conference proceedings to his credit. He has got two PCTs to his credit. He has been a member of the organizing and technical program committees of several national and international conferences.
His research interests include hybrid intelligence, pattern recognition, multimedia data processing, social networks and quantum computing.

Elliot J Lefkowitz
Professor of Microbiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB); Director of Informatics for the UAB Center for Clinical and Translational Science; Data Secretary of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) and Editor-In-Chief of the ICTV Online (10th) Report on Virus Taxonomy. My research focuses on contributing to the understanding of microbial (especially viral) genomics and evolution by developing and utilizing computational tools and bioinformatics techniques to mine sequence and other data for significant patterns characteristic of function and/or evolution.

Mike Climstein
Mike Climstein (PhD, FASMF, FACSM, FESSA, AEP) is an Associate Professor who holds clinical and research appointments. He is currently Course Coordinator of the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology program at Southern Cross University; Adjunct Assoc. Professor in the Physical Activity, Lifestyle, Ageing and Wellbeing Faculty Research Group, University of Sydney and Director of Aquatic Based Research at Southern Cross University.
Mike has 165 papers, 12 book chapters and 38 grants (internal and external funding) totaling in excess of $7.8m (AUD). His academic and clinical accomplishments have been peer-recognized having received Fellowship by Sports Medicine Australia (FASMF), American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM) and Exercise and Sports Science Australia (FAAESS). Additionally, Mike has received a number of awards for his research efforts. He is an Academic Editor for PeerJ and reviewer for a number of exercise/sports science and sports medicine journals.
Mike’s research involves clinical exercise physiology/sports science, masters athletes, deleterious effects of aging and chronic conditions on bone health/segmental body composition. He is currently supervising PhD students in the areas of skin cancer, cardiac rehabilitation, world masters games athletes, surfing (bone health and exostoses) and biometric/smart clothing in clinical monitoring.
Liang Wang
Prof. Wang is currently a tenured full professor and distinguished medical researcher at Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital (Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences), Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China, where he leads a research group in intelligent medicine, digital health, and clinical microbiology. He is also an adjunct research fellow at the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences, University of Queensland (2023-2026), adjunct research fellow at the Division of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Western Australia (2023-2026), and associate professor (Nov. 2022-Oct. 2025) at the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Edith Cowan University, Perth, WA, Australia. Prof. Wang is a supervisor for PhD students at South China University of Technology (SCUT), MSc students at South Medical University (SMU) and Xuzhou Medical University (XZMU), and also supervises PhD students at the University of Queensland and the University of Western Australia.
Prof. Wang was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Western Australia in 2014 and received his postdoctoral training at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) and Curtin University (Perth, Australia). Prof. Wang serves as an associate editor at Journal of Translational Medicine, Frontiers in Microbiology, and Gene Reports. He also serves as an editorial board member at BMC Microbiology, BMC Bioinformatics, Heliyon (Advisory Member), PLOS One (Academic Editor), Immunity, Inflammation and Disease (Emerging Editor), Translational Metabolic Syndrome Research, Future Integrative Medicine, Frontiers in Bioinformatics, iMeta, and Medicine Advances, etc. Prof. Wang is frequently invited to review manuscripts for multiple journals such as Lancet Digital Health, etc.
Prof. Wang has edited seven books and published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers in international journals such as The Lancet Microbe, npj Digital Medicine, Trends in Analytical Chemistry, ISME J, Journal of Advanced Research, BMJ Health & Care Informatics, etc. He is the recipient of the Rising Star Award in Measurement Science by the American Society for Chemistry and Australia-China Helicobacter Research Fellowship (2019), awarded by the Australia-China Council and Nobel Prize Laureate Professor Barry Marshall.

Current research projects in our laboratory involve molecular ecology, quantitative genetics and population dynamics to study wild animal populations.
