Supreet Agarwal

I am a cancer biologist with 13+ years of experience and diverse background in clinical pharmaceutical sciences, cancer stem cells, cancer therapeutics, and data analytics. My research has focused on using innovative 3D organoid models for the understanding of cancer cell signaling pathways to facilitate cancer biomarker discovery and drug discovery for metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer. I have successfully completed multiple preclinical trials of which two drugs are currently in clinical trials. Some of the methodologies I have gained expertise in include high-throughput drug screening, preclinical trials, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, CRISPR screens, patient-derived xenografts, 3D organoid cultures, bioinformatics tools, and statistical analysis.

Oluwaseun Adebayo Bamodu

Dr. Oluwaseun Adebayo Bamodu is a Medical Research Fellow in the Department of Urology at Tapein Medical University - Shuang Ho Hospital. His research interests include: Precision Medicine, Breast Cancer, Cancer Research, Cancer Stem Cells, Immuno-oncology, Cancer Diagnostics, Therapeutics and Prognosis, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Functional Urology, and Genitourinary Malignancies.

Daniela Brünnert

My current research is related to autoimmune diseases, where we develop and express and characterize specific AIM biologicals as tools against diseases like Type 1 diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, NMO, and Parkinson's disease. Apart from that, I am interested in the development of novel cancer therapies with a particular focus on Multiple Myeloma, but also investigating other solid tumors. And a last major interest is related to pregnancy and understanding more about the role of Thrombin in terms of cytokine regulation and its functional consequences for trophoblast cells.

Bruno Fionda

Dr. Fionda graduated in Medicine and Surgery and subsequently specialized in Radiotherapy at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome. He started working in 2016 at Gemelli-ART (Advanced Radiation Therapy) in Rome dealing with special techniques, such as Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) which uses specific light sources to monitor the patient’s surface during therapy. Dr. Fionda worked with the first hybrid machine installed in Italy that combines modern linear accelerators (LINAC) with the acquisition of magnetic resonance images allowing to follow the movement of the internal organs in real time. He has also gained long experience in interventional radiotherapy (brachytherapy) with both high dose rate (HDR) and pulsed dose rate (PDR).

Dr Fionda is a member of the Italian Association of Radiotherapy and Clinical Oncology (AIRO) and of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). He is the author of over 100 publications including conference abstracts and research articles on national and international journals, and is adjunct Professor of Radiation Oncology at Saint Camilus International University of Healh Sciences.

Ferdinand Frauscher

Ferdinand Frauscher is Associate Professor of Radiology, appointed at the faculty of the Medical University Innsbruck in 1993. At Medical University Innsbruck, Austria, he was Head of the Division of Uroradiology and Head of Research. Currently he is Head of Prostate Imaging Centre in Igls. He is one of the leaders in the field of Uroradiology, especially focussing on prostate imaging. He has carried out extensive research on the role of ultrasound in prostate cancer detection.

He was awarded “Vebleo Nanomedicine Scientist Award” (Sweden), “Marco Polo della Scienza Italiana” (Italy), The Premier's Research Excellence Award (Canada), Scholar Award
(Medical Research Council of Canada) and Research Award from National Kidney Foundation of USA. Shobana Navaneethabalakrishnan

I received my PhD in Reproductive Endocrinology from University of Madras, India where I studied the molecular mechanism underlying the repression of follicle stimulating hormone receptor and androgen receptor in Sertoli cells of F1 progeny rats with gestational exposure to hexavalent chromium. I have successfully attained inter-laboratory collaboration to study the effect of gestational exposure to excess hexavalent chromium on insulin signaling molecules and glucose homeostasis in F1 progeny rats. Currently, my research focus is to understand the role of gonadal macrophage polarization in reproductive dysfunction associated with hypertension in both men and women.

Jiangjiang Qin

Dr. Jiangjiang Qin is currently a Professor of Cancer Pharmacology and Drug Discovery at the Institute of Basic Medicine and Cancer (IBMC), Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Cancer Hospital of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Zhejiang Cancer Hospital).

Dr. Qin received his B.S. degree in Pharmacy (2006) and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering with the highest honor (2011) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, under the supervision of Professor Wei-Dong Zhang. After completion of Post-Doctoral training in cancer biology, pharmacology, and molecular therapeutics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in 2014, Dr. Qin continued his research work at TTUHSC as a Research Associate and a Senior Research Associate and at the University of Houston as a Senior Research Scientist. Dr. Qin joined Zhejiang Chinese Medicinal University as a Full Professor in 2018 and then moved to IBMC in 2020.

Dr. Qin’s research mainly focuses on the discovery and development of novel, effective, and safe anticancer agents as well as demonstrating the molecular targets and mechanisms of action. He has published more than 150 research papers and reviews. He is also an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Pharmacology and Frontiers in Oncology and an Editorial Board Member of more than 10 scientific journals such as Recent Patents on Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery, Journal of Cancer Research Updates, World Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Albert Salas-Huetos

Dr. Salas-Huetos obtained his Bachelor of Science (Biology) from the Universitat de Girona (UdG) in 2009, his MSc in Cell Biology in 2010 at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), and his Ph.D. in Cell Biology (Cum-Laude and Extraordinary Doctorate Award) in 2016 at the same University (UAB). He joined the Genetics of Male Fertility group (UAB) as a PhD Student, and Human Nutrition Unit (Universitat Rovira i Virgili; URV) in 2016 as a Post-doctoral Fellowship. He spent a three-month Post-doctoral stay (September-December 2017) at Universidad de Guadalajara in Mexico. In 2018, he joined the University of Utah (USA) and in 2020 the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Harvard University; USA) as a Post-doctoral Fellow. Nowadays he is a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University for the Department of Nutrition, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Post-doctoral Fellow at Universitat de Girona (JdlCI). Currently, he is working on different large international multicentric projects related to genetics and epigenetics of male (in)fertility, and nutrition. The main contributions of his scientific activity are reflected in a total of 63 original articles (Q1: 51/63; first or corresponding author: 23/63) in SCI/JCR-journals (+ 5 submitted), and 3 book chapter (+2 submitted). He has attended 9 national/international conferences as invited (plenary) speaker and he was the leading author of 10 contributions in international conferences (+15 as a collaborator author).

Ashish K Solanki

My Ph.D. (Structural Biology/Biochemistry) focused on studying the pathogenesis of the HIV-1 virus and finding ways to combat its infection. It included structural analysis of the interaction of HIV-1 gp120 with neutralizing and non-neutralizing mAbs, chimeric antibody-CD4 IgG2, and with the host cell surface glycoprotein CD4. Although in the past I have been working on structural, biophysical, and biochemical methods to answer some of the critical questions in biology, my interest in cell signaling and protein trafficking enabled me to join the Dept. of Nephrology, MUSC, South Carolina as a postdoctoral fellow. I have gained a large amount of experience in the field of protein biochemistry and substantial knowledge of podocyte biology during months spent as a postdoc. I explored the role of the exocyst complex in podocyte development and functions, critical aspects of cell signaling, studying pathophysiology and diseases progression caused by mutations in slit diaphragm proteins, which not only helped to get publications but increased my understanding in the field of podocyte biology. The understanding and development of animal model systems in the lab further helped me to strengthen my podocyte experience. I also worked on developing a novel cell-based assay to diagnose recurrent Focal and Segmental Glomerulosclerosis.
