Arnold R. Salvacion
Arnold is a Research Fellow at Centre for Crop and Disease Management, Curtin University. He is an environmental scientist with more than 15 years of research experience in agriculture, natural resource, applied climate science, human ecology, quantitative geography, and geographic information system. In 2021, he was awarded as one of the Outstanding Young Scientists by the National Academy of Science and Technology (Philippines) for his contribution to the advancement of human ecological research in the country. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Human Ecology and Sustainability and also serves on the Editorial Board of Spatial Information Research, and SN Social Sciences.
Pierpaolo Pani
Dr. Pierpaolo Pani is a Associate Professor within the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, SAPIENZA, University of Rome. He received a MSc in Experimental Psychology and PhD in Neurophysiolgy (Behavioral and Integrative) at Sapienza University (Rome), and was a post-doc in KULeuven (Laboratory for Neuro- and Psychophysiology).
Dr. Pani's main topics of investigation include Cognitive control, executive functions, goal-oriented behavior and decision making. These topics include behavioral and psychophysiological investigations in humans; behavioral and neuronal dynamics investigations in mammals; characterization of executive functions control in psychiatric conditions.
Daniela Brünnert
My current research is related to autoimmune diseases, where we develop and express and characterize specific AIM biologicals as tools against diseases like Type 1 diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, NMO, and Parkinson's disease. Apart from that, I am interested in the development of novel cancer therapies with a particular focus on Multiple Myeloma, but also investigating other solid tumors. And a last major interest is related to pregnancy and understanding more about the role of Thrombin in terms of cytokine regulation and its functional consequences for trophoblast cells.
Agus Santoso
Senior research scientist at Climate Change Research Centre, UNSW Australia. Co-Project leader at the Centre for Southern Hemisphere Oceans Research (CSHOR), CSIRO, Australia. CSIRO adjunct science leader. Past member of WCRP CLIVAR Pacific Panel.
My research focusses on the mechanisms underlying climate and ocean variability and change. I implement data analysis techniques and climate model experiments. Specific interests include the evolution of Southern Ocean water masses; air-sea processes in relation to the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO), Indian Ocean anomalies, Southern Annular Mode, and their connection to regional rainfall variability and extremes.
Prasanna Krishnamurthy
Dr. Prasanna earned his BVSc (DVM) degree with honors from Bangalore Veterinary College and completed his Masters and PhD in Veterinary Pathology from Indian Veterinary Research Institute (India's premier institute for Veterinary Research). He completed his postdoctoral training at Northwestern University (in Dr. Raj Kishore's laboratory) and East Tennessee State University. Before joining University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), he held faculty appointments at the Feinberg Cardiovascular Research Institute, Northwestern University School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois and Houston Methodist Research Institute, Texas.
As a member of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, he directs a research program focusing on understanding mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases and developing novel therapeutic strategies to promote cardiac regeneration and repair. Dr. Krishnamurthy’s laboratory is supported through funds from National Institutes of Health (NIH-R01) and American Heart Association (GIA and Postdoctoral fellowships).

Carlos Gutiérrez
Carlos Gutiérrez, DVM (Córdoba, 1986), diplomate in Public Health (Madrid, 1988), PhD (Las Palmas, 1995), Master in Public Health (Las Palmas, 2003), University Expert in Biostatistics (Madrid, 2006), diplomate European College Small Ruminant Health Management (-ECSRHM-Brussels, 2013), is currently Full Professor at Research Institute of Biomedical and Health Sciencies/School of Veterinary Science, University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
He has developed several projects, collaborations and training periods in the Institute of Tropical Medicine (Antwerp, Belgium), Swiss Tropical and Public Health (Basel, Switzerlandor) or Vlaam Biotchnology Institute (Brussels, Belgium).
He has particular interest on animal tropical diseases (trypanosomosis in special) as well as biomedical applications of nanobodies (VHH). Currently he is an active member of different international committees like ad-hoc OIE group on non tse-tse transmitted animal trypanosomes (OIE, Paris), Camel Section of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP, Roma) or Teaching committee of the ECSRHM (Brussels) and belongs to several Societies like New York Academy of Sciences or National Geographic Society.
Wei Xu
Dr. Wei Xu received his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from University of Toronto. He is currently a scientist and principle biostatistician in Princess Margaret Hospital on clinical research of cancer diseases. He is a faculty member at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Medical Statistics and Informatics. Dr. Xu's research interests are statistical genetics and clinical trial design and analysis. He is the author or co-author of over 100 publications in peer-review journals.
