Hugo A. Kerhervé
I am a sport and exercise scientist with a multidisciplinary background in exercise physiology, biomechanics and motor control.
I am interested in multifactorial approaches to human acute and chronic adaptation to various stresses, through the study of:
- the factors of performance in individual and team sports in participants with and without disabilities;
- the human-equipment and human-environment interface in performance and injury prevention;
- exercise interventions for health and well-being throughout life and across cultures;
- age-specific and sex-specific factors of cardiovascular, biomechanical and neuromuscular adaptation.
David Levine
David Levine, PT, PhD, DPT, Diplomate ABPTS, CCRP, Cert. DN
Dr. Levine is a Professor and the Walter M. Cline Chair of Excellence in Physical Therapy at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is an adjunct professor at the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition, he is board certified as a specialist in orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is also certified in dry needling. Dr. Levine has been working and conducting research in many areas with an emphasis in veterinary physical rehabilitation and is co-director of the University of Tennessee certificate program in canine rehabilitation. He is a co-editor of multiple books including “Canine Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy”, “Essential Facts of Physiotherapy in Dogs and Cats”, and Gait Analysis: An Introduction. He continues to practice in canine rehabilitation and human physical therapy in addition to his University position. He has presented at over 100 conferences, and has lectured in more than a dozen countries. Dr. Levine has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals with over 75 publications. His latest research focuses on bacterial contamination in medical equipment, animal assisted therapy, and laser to improve muscle endurance.
Katherine Mitsouras
Katherine received her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Brown University and her PhD in Biological Chemistry from the Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She subsequently trained in microarray technology development at Dr Stan Nelson's lab in the Department of Human Genetics at UCLA and collaborated with Agilent Technologies to develop microarrays to detect tissue-specific alternative splicing events in humans. Since 2007 she has been an Assistant, then Associate Professor of Biochemistry at Western University of Health Sciences.
Jose M. Moran
Jose M. Moran, Ph. D., is currently Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department in the University of Extremadura, Spain. He completed his Ph. D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Actually he is a member of the Metabolic Bone Diseases Research Group in the University of Extremadura. He is a reviewer and Academic Editor of several international journals. Actually he combines both the research in the field of Metabolic Bone Diseases and the research in Research Designs and Statistical Methods used in the research in Health Sciences.

Charles Odilichukwu R Okpala
Charles Odilichukwu R. Okpala is a Certified Food Scientist (CFS) - International Food Science Certification Commission (IFSCC-USA), Chartered Scientist (CSci) of the Science Council-UK, Fellow - Linnaean Society of London (FLS), Fellow - Institute of Food Science and Technology (FIFST-UK), Member - International Association of Food Protection (MIAFP-USA), Member - Institution of Agricultural Engineers (MIAgrE-UK), Professional Engineer (PEng-UK), Member - The Federalist Society (USA), among others. Charles' first college education was in Statistics and Computer Applications (CertDiplom, 2002) at the University of Nigeria Nsukka - Nigeria, followed by Agriculture (B.Sc. Hons, 2008) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana. Subsequently, he underwent specialist food science research training (Master of Research [MRES], 2010) at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow-UK, and during that period, undertook chemical engineering training under the European Federation of Chemical Engineers at Koc Universitesi-Istanbul, Turkey(Intensive Lifelong Learning Diploma - Chemical Engineering with distinction, 2009). He recently completed advanced specialist food nutrition technology research training at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (UPWr), Wrocław, Poland (Dyplom Doktorski, Ph.D., 2023). He holds an excess of 75 other credentials, for example, Diplomas in Legal Studies, Social Work Studies, Psychology, Workplace Safety & Health, as well as Certifications like FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food(USA); HACCP Meat & Poultry(USA); HACCP Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Packinghouse(USA); ServSafe® Instructor/Registered Examination Proctor(National Restaurant Association-USA); ServSafe® Food Protection Manager(National Restaurant Association-USA); Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) Train-the-Trainer (Association of Food and Drug Officials, USA); etc. Currently, he is a County Extension Agent at Assistant Professor cadre (Family & Consumer Science) - University of Georgia Cooperative Extension (Richmond County Office), College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of Georgia- Athens, USA, and before, Research Scholar - Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Wrocław-Poland. Previously held at other notable institutions include Research Fellow at IRBIM CNR (previously known as IAMC CNR), Mazara del Vallo, Trapani, Italy (2015-2016), and Research Scholar (School of Science, 2011-2013)/Research Associate (Global Public Health Unit, 2012-2013) at Monash University Sunway Campus, Malaysia. In addition to being an Extension Educator and Subject Matter Specialist, he also lends his expertise as an Independent Academic-Research Practice Consultant, Lead Internal Quality Assurer, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Practitioner, among other roles. With over 150 scholarly works in ISI impact factor journals, he has Google Scholar citations exceeding 4000 with an h-index of 30. In addition to being an academic/associate editor with some Scopus-indexed journals, he is a scientific reviewer for over 45 others. He delivered posters/presentations at regional/state/international conferences/seminars. Adding to being a proud Strathclyder, Charles' interests include the following: community/learner development/progress; consumer safety/food protection; family consumer sciences/extension outreach/services; agri-food processing/production/quality in sustainable global food systems; environmental public health/epidemiology; quality management of agrifood products/foodservice industries as well as qualitative/quantitative research methods. Most essentially, Charles trusts Almighty God to lead him in academic, administrative, and vocational endeavours. Additionally, he is extremely passionate and zealous about ensuring colleagues/students, and community members strive to achieve, excel, and succeed.
Sonia MR Oliveira
Doctor Sonia Oliveira holds a Licenciatura in Biology (pre-Bologna) and a Master in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Aveiro, where she also specialized in medicinal plants, toxicology, murine models, and spermatogenesis. In 2011 she moved to Australia to work in Reproductive Biological Sciences. She later explored the nerve-cancer connection in Cancer, namely in female cancers, and completed her Ph.D. in Human Physiology ( with a significant component in Medical Biochemistry and Neurophysiology) from the University of Newcastle (Australia) in 2018. She then worked with biomimetic systems and nanotechnology in diabetes and stem cells. She explored multiple methods for primary and secondary cell culture, always with a keen interest in histopathology, cell biology, and rare disorders. Participated in >40 event(s). (Co-)Supervised MSc dissertation(s) and final projects for course completion of LSc/BSc. And works mostly in the area(s) of Natural sciences with emphasis on Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Medical and Health Sciences with emphasis on Neurosciences, Cancer, Reproduction, Toxicology, Biotechnology, and Stem cells. Nicola Reavley
Dr Nicola Reavley is a Principal Research Fellow in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on improving public knowledge and beliefs about mental health problems, reducing stigma and discrimination and improving support for those with mental disorders.
A/Prof Reavley is a Chief Investigator on five NHMRC-funded projects, three of which aim to improve mental health literacy in members of the public. She also led a number of projects that aim to assist organisations to better manage mental health issues, including the development of guidelines for implementation of a strategy for the prevention of mental health problems and for supporting employees returning to work after an episode of anxiety or depression, which can be found at http://workplace-mentalhealth.net.au/ . She also led the conduct of the 2011 National Survey of Mental Health Literacy and Stigma and the 2014 National Survey of Discrimination and Positive Treatment in People with Mental Health Problems.
Jayakumar Saikarthik
Dr Saikarthik has an undergraduate degree in Radiology and Imaging Sciences Technology from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, India. He obtained his MSc in Medicine and Anatomy, followed by a PhD in the same specialty from the prestigious Saveetha University, India.
Dr Saikarthik's research interests include, Gross and Radiological Anatomy, Neurogenesis and Neurohistology, Psychiatric Epidemiology, Medical Education and Qualitative Research Methods. He has authored many scientific articles which have been published in ranked journals. Recently he has also published a book chapter on the association of COVID-19 with neurogenesis.
Dr Saikarthik is a fellow from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, UK; Member of the British Association of Clinical Anatomy; Member of the Saudi Society of Medical Education and Member of the Royal Society of Biology UK. He is also a member and certificate holder of Essential Skills in Medical Education from Association of Medical Education from Europe.
Some of his awards include: Best oral presentation award from Association of Anatomist of Tamilnadu, Young researcher in Anatomy and Mental health (2021) and Global Faculty Award (2020). He is also currently an Associate Editor at Majmaah Journal of Health Sciences.
Kaspar Staub
I am an epidemiologist and historian interested in anthropometry, body height, obesity and neonatal health on the one hand, and historical epidemiology (past and present epidemics and pandemics, etc.) on the other. I am leading a research group at the University of Zurich at the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine.
Aslı Suner
Dr. Aslı Suner Karakülah currently works at Ege University, School of Medicine, Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics in Turkey as an associate professor. She obtained BSc (2005), MSc (2007) and PhD (2013) degrees from Dokuz Eylül University, Science Faculty, Statistics Department in Turkey. Between March 2011 and February 2012, she joined Professor Klaus-Peter Adlassnig’s research group as a visiting PhD student at Medical University of Vienna, Center for Medical Statistics, Informatics, and Intelligent Systems, Section for Medical Expert and Knowledge-Based Systems, Vienna, Austria. Her main research interests include: biostatistics, bioinformatics, medical informatics and applied statistics – particularly the analysis of problems in decision theory, multicriteria decision making, clinical decision support systems, and data mining.
