Sonia MR Oliveira

Doctor Sonia Oliveira holds a Licenciatura in Biology (pre-Bologna) and a Master in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Aveiro, where she also specialized in medicinal plants, toxicology, murine models, and spermatogenesis. In 2011 she moved to Australia to work in Reproductive Biological Sciences. She later explored the nerve-cancer connection in Cancer, namely in female cancers, and completed her Ph.D. in Human Physiology ( with a significant component in Medical Biochemistry and Neurophysiology) from the University of Newcastle (Australia) in 2018. She then worked with biomimetic systems and nanotechnology in diabetes and stem cells. She explored multiple methods for primary and secondary cell culture, always with a keen interest in histopathology, cell biology, and rare disorders. Participated in >40 event(s). (Co-)Supervised MSc dissertation(s) and final projects for course completion of LSc/BSc. And works mostly in the area(s) of Natural sciences with emphasis on Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Medical and Health Sciences with emphasis on Neurosciences, Cancer, Reproduction, Toxicology, Biotechnology, and Stem cells. Also has collaborations in Microbiology, Biomaterials, and Communication and Information technologies.

Rebecca SV Parkes

Dr Rebecca Parkes is an Executive Manager at the Hong Kong Jockey Club. She is an equine veterinarian with a particular interest in equine welfare, and sports medicine and rehabilitation. Her research interests are in equine welfare and veterinary education.

Prior to this, she was Associate Professor in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at St George's University, Grenada where she taught equine medicine and surgery, clinical skills and professionalism. Prior to joining SGU, Dr Parkes was Assistant Professor at City University of Hong Kong. At CityU, she led the Clinical Skills Laboratory and the Veterinary Practice and Professional courses. Dr Parkes graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2010. She also holds a PhD in equine locomotor biomechanics, a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Education.

Nicola Reavley

Dr Nicola Reavley is a Principal Research Fellow in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on improving public knowledge and beliefs about mental health problems, reducing stigma and discrimination and improving support for those with mental disorders.

A/Prof Reavley is a Chief Investigator on five NHMRC-funded projects, three of which aim to improve mental health literacy in members of the public. She also led a number of projects that aim to assist organisations to better manage mental health issues, including the development of guidelines for implementation of a strategy for the prevention of mental health problems and for supporting employees returning to work after an episode of anxiety or depression, which can be found at http://workplace-mentalhealth.net.au/ . She also led the conduct of the 2011 National Survey of Mental Health Literacy and Stigma and the 2014 National Survey of Discrimination and Positive Treatment in People with Mental Health Problems.

Darren Rhodes

Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. Interested in modelling perception, time perception, multisensory processing, Bayesian models, and Open Science.

Jayakumar Saikarthik

Dr Saikarthik has an undergraduate degree in Radiology and Imaging Sciences Technology from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, India. He obtained his MSc in Medicine and Anatomy, followed by a PhD in the same specialty from the prestigious Saveetha University, India.

Dr Saikarthik's research interests include, Gross and Radiological Anatomy, Neurogenesis and Neurohistology, Psychiatric Epidemiology, Medical Education and Qualitative Research Methods. He has authored many scientific articles which have been published in ranked journals. Recently he has also published a book chapter on the association of COVID-19 with neurogenesis.

Dr Saikarthik is a fellow from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, UK; Member of the British Association of Clinical Anatomy; Member of the Saudi Society of Medical Education and Member of the Royal Society of Biology UK. He is also a member and certificate holder of Essential Skills in Medical Education from Association of Medical Education from Europe.

Some of his awards include: Best oral presentation award from Association of Anatomist of Tamilnadu, Young researcher in Anatomy and Mental health (2021) and Global Faculty Award (2020). He is also currently an Associate Editor at Majmaah Journal of Health Sciences.

Jay Shah

Prof. Jay Shah is a Professor of Surgery at Patan Hospital, a tertiary care teaching hospital of health science university, ‘Patan
Academy of Health Sciences’, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Nepal. He is responsible for managing and leading the unit in-charge of the surgery department, comprising of more than 30 faculties, residents, interns and medical students. His unit manages 3 outpatients and 3 operation theatre days a week.

Prof. Shah is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs of the school of medicine, nursing, and public health.
In addition, he is also involved with the Primary Trauma Course (PTC), research, writing and publishing in scientific journals, and the post-graduate committee.

Kaspar Staub

I am an epidemiologist and historian interested in anthropometry, body height, obesity and neonatal health on the one hand, and historical epidemiology (past and present epidemics and pandemics, etc.) on the other. I am leading a research group at the University of Zurich at the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine.

Aslı Suner

Dr. Aslı Suner Karakülah currently works at Ege University, School of Medicine, Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics in Turkey as an associate professor. She obtained BSc (2005), MSc (2007) and PhD (2013) degrees from Dokuz Eylül University, Science Faculty, Statistics Department in Turkey. Between March 2011 and February 2012, she joined Professor Klaus-Peter Adlassnig’s research group as a visiting PhD student at Medical University of Vienna, Center for Medical Statistics, Informatics, and Intelligent Systems, Section for Medical Expert and Knowledge-Based Systems, Vienna, Austria. Her main research interests include: biostatistics, bioinformatics, medical informatics and applied statistics – particularly the analysis of problems in decision theory, multicriteria decision making, clinical decision support systems, and data mining.

Matteo Vandoni

Matteo Vandoni is the scientific director of the Laboratory of Adapted Motor Activity of the University of Pavia.
His research topics are: the study of childhood obesity and diabetes exercise - the changes in the autonomic nervous system in pediatric and adult subjects - the study of the implications of physical exercise on health – the study of functional performance in developmental age.

Xin Zhang

Dr. Xin Zhang is Department Director and Principal Investigator of the Clinical Experimental Center at Jiangmen Central Hospital (China). He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from Sun Yat-sen University in 2016. Dr. Zhang is an enthusiastic, early career scientist involved in interdisciplinary training and has a strong biological background, including molecular pathology, molecular diagnostics, and molecular pharmacology. His current research interests mainly focus on the molecular mechanism of tumor recurrence and metastasis, clinical application of molecular diagnosis, and molecular pharmacological mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine in potential therapeutic application of cancer.
