David Cappelletti

Full Professor of Environmental Chemistry at the University of Perugia. Coordinator of the Environmental Chemistry and Technology (ECT) research group. Member of the Italian Glaciological Committee (CGI) and Italian Aerosol Society (IAS). He participated in several Italian Arctic Expeditions (2011-2019). Italian delegate at the Arctic Science Forum Ministerial (Berlin, 2018).

Co-author of more than 150 scientific ISI publications, including well-renowned international journals of high impact factor (such as Nature, Angewandte Chemie, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Physical Review Letters, Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics). He has contributed to important review papers (Accounts of Chemical Research, International Reviews in Physical Chemistry, Progress in Surface Science, Advances in Quantum Chemistry).

Lead Editor of the Special Issues "Environmental Changes in the Arctic: an Italian Perspective" appeared on Rendiconti Lincei (2016, Springer) and "Mineral Dust: Sources, Atmospheric Processing and Impacts" appeared on Atmosphere (2018, MDPI).

Research in the ECT group is based on the chemical and morphological characterization of atmospheric aerosols in the urban, remote and indoor environments, vertical profile measurements of aerosol properties by tethered balloon experiments and aerosol source apportionment methodologies, implementation and optimization of chemical transport models (Lagrangian and Eulerian).

Giovanni D'Orazio

Giovanni D'Orazio is permanent full time contract as researcher level III at CNR. (Council National Research).
Research sectors: 1) Analytical chemistry field; 2) Miniaturized chromatographic techniques: Capillary Electrophoresis and Electrochromatography (CEC), and nanoscale Liquid Chromatography (Nano-LC); 3) coupling with mass spectrometry; miniaturized sample preparation.

Recent Scientific Activities: 1) Development of nano-spray interfaces for coupling miniaturized techniques with mass spectrometry; 2) Development of analytical methods for separation of chiral and achiral of pharmaceutical and agrifood interest; 3) Packing procedure of capillary column (50-100 um ID) used in CEC and nano-LC; 4) Miniaturized sample preparation.

Marc-André Delsuc

Marc-André Delsuc activity is mostly oriented toward the use and improvement of spectroscopies, in particular NMR and more recently FT-MS. This includes new experiment design, development of data processing methods, development of software programs. I have been deeply involved in field as diverse as protein structural analysis, protein-ligand screening, complex mixture analysis, quantum mechanic details of the NMR phenomenon, automatic data analysis, fractal dimension of proteins and polymers, etc.

Mohamed Ali Ali Farag

Specializing in metabolomics, natural products chemistry, and plant biochemistry, Mohamed A. Farag completed his PhD at Texas Tech University, USA, in 2003.
Since 2009, Dr Farag has been working as a part time visiting professor at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, to participate in teaching plant metabolomics and chemomterics modelling for master students, and in 2009–2010 he held the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship at the Leibniz Institute for Plant Biochemistry, Germany. Dr Farag now works full time as a professor at the American University in Cairo (AUC) where his research work focuses primarily around applying innovative biochemical technologies (metabolomics) to help answer complex biological questions in medicine, herbal drugs analysis and agriculture.

Dr. Farag has been recognized with several awards, including Abd el Hameed Shoman award (2016), Egypt Higher State Incentive Award (2012), TWAS award in science diplomacy (2014), and the Mass Spectroscopy Performance Award, TTU, USA (2004). For his highly cited publications of 100 scientific papers with close to 3500 citations and an H index of 26, Dr. Farag was selected as a top researcher in the field of plant biology in Africa by the American society of plant biology, USA.

Mohammed Gagaoua

The research of Dr. Mohammed GAGAOUA is focused on the use of proteomics in the field of muscle to meat conversion and the development of fast and efficient aqueous techniques for protein purification. His research interests are at the interface of chemistry and biology with a focus on the use of protein biomarkers quantified by western-blotting, Dot-Blot and reverse phase protein arrays (RPPA) to manage meat quality and also to understand the mechanisms behind meat tenderizing. As a career achiever, Dr. Gagaoua has received the International Meat Science Award in 2015, the ICoMST2018 award by Robin Shorthouse for outstanding contribution to advancing Meat Science and the ICoMST2018 Meat Science award for best presentation. He has published more than 60 publications among them 43 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, 6 book chapters and has more than 40 communications in national and international congresses.

Pierre Herckes

Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the School of Molecular Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU). Affiliate Professor in the School of Earth and Space Exploration at ASU.

Research Areas inclued analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry and geochemistry.

Oliver A.H. Jones

My group conducts research on new analytical methods and technologies, particularly in multidimensional chromatography mass spectrometry and NMR. I also have had a long history of research in metabolomics and the trace analysis of environmental pollutants in complex matrices. Recently I have extended my work to include forensic chemistry and I also have an interest in bringing technology to Chemistry Education. Tobias Kind

My research interests are in computational mass spectrometry, computational metabolomics and cheminformatics with a focus on structural elucidation of small molecules.

Young Jin Lee

Associate Professor in Department of Chemistry, Iowa State University. Over 25 years of experience with over 80 publications in various fields of mass spectrometry including fundamentals, SIMS, ion mobility instrumentation, and proteomics. Current research interests include MALDI based mass spectrometry imaging of plant metabolites and forensic applications as well as analytical biomass pyrolysis especially with high-resolution mass spectrometry and dopant assisted atmospheric pressure ionization.

Julia Martín

Julia Martín obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2012 at University of Seville (Spain). She is Assistant Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry (University of Seville) since 2013. Her principal research interests fall into the three interrelated areas of environmental, analytical and water sciences. She is particularly interested in the development of new methodologies for the determination of majority and emerging pollutants in environmental and biological matrices. These methodologies are then applied to evaluate the occurrence and fate of pollutants to obtain information about their potential toxicological effects to the ecosystems. Her interest is also focused on the history of chemistry and on the methodological aspects of analytical science. She is a co-author of more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 20 book chapters, H-index 18 and 875 citation.

Ralph Mead

I am an organic geochemist studying the fate and transport of anthropogenically and natural derived organic compounds in the Anthropocene.
