Marco Cavalli obtained the PhD in Environmental Watershed Management in 2009 at the TeSAF (University of Padova) with a thesis on "Hydrological and morphological characterization of mountain basins by means of airborne LiDAR technology”. Since 2009 Marco Cavalli is Researcher at CNR-IRPI of Padova. His research interests include: Geomorphometry, Airborne Laser Scanning technology (LiDAR) and high-resolution DTMs applications, Geomorphic processes in mountain catchments, Post Flash flood investigation, analysis of historical information, GIS and surface hydrology. Currently, his main interest is related to sediment connectivity assessment through geomorphometric approaches.
He is\was scientific responsible or coordinator of CNR IRPI in several National and European projects (SedAlp, GESTO, Gadria Project, KINOFLOW). Since 2011 he is teaching a course for PhD and post doc researchers entitled 'Geomorphometry: quantitative analysis of earth surface' at the University of Padova. He is\was supervisor of three research grants at CNR IRPI, co-advisor of two PhD and several B.S. and M.S. theses of the University of Padova, Udine, Wageningen, Stockholm on geomorphology and hydrology fields. He is author and co-author of more than 50 papers in international journals.

Maria Patrizia Stoppelli is currently Research Director at Institute of Genetics and Biophysics, National Research Council, Naples (Italy). She has worked in prestigious Institutions like the NIH-NCI, Bethesda, Md and the MIT, Cambridge, MA and developed an internationally recognised research profile in tumour cell migration and invasion with over 65 publications and 2 patents to her name. In 2014, Dr Stoppelli qualified as Full professor in General and Clinical Biochemistry.
Dr. Chatti Abdelwaheb is an Associate Professor in Carthage University at the faculty of Sciences of Bizerte, Tunisia. He acquired his PhD from the University of Carthage in 2007. Dr. Chatti's research interests are primarily in the area of life and environmental sciences with emphasis on the use of microorganisms and biomaterials in remediation. He has over 50 peer reviewed research publications in leading journals.
I am Associate Professor at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology of SAPIENZA, University of Rome, since 2019. After graduating in Experimental Psychology at SAPIENZA, University of Rome, I obtained a PhD in Behavioral Neurophysiology at the same University. From 2005 to 2010 I worked at the Department of Physiology of Queen's University, Kingston (ON), Canada and the Institut Universitari de Audiovisual, University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Espana, focusing my research on the study of the neuronal correlate of motor decision in cortical brain areas. Since 2011 I have been working at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology of SAPIENZA, University of Rome, focusing my research on the study of the neuronal correlates of inferential reasoning in both humans and monkeys.

Prof. Li received his Medical Doctorate in 2005 as an outstanding graduate of the Chinese Union Medical University (CUMU). In the same year, he worked in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, where he served as an attending physician, deputy chief physician, and was appointed Chief Physician in 2019. He has a solid theoretical foundation and excellent research ability, and has accumulated rich clinical experience during my work. In 2017, he took over as the Director of the Office of Drug Clinical Trial Research Center, and his outstanding achievements in the management of clinical trial institutions and clinical and translational research, and is currently served as the chief expert of China GCP platform and Leading PI of international multicenter clinical trials of anti-cancer drug discovery. He is committed to new anti-tumor drug research, real-world research, full chain translation research of clinical trials, precision treatment of rare tumors and tumor big data research. His H-Index is 44 based on Web of Science. As a sub-project leader of the National 973 Major Project, the National Key R&D Program for Precision Medicine, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the GCP platform leader, and the leader of the 13th and 14th Five-Year Innovation Project, he has undertaken many research projects.

I began my career as a Biology Undergraduate at MIT, where my first research project was to invent a method for attaching DNA to glass as part of the then-unfinished Human Genome Project. After MIT, I explored career options in Medical School Sillicon Valley and NIH, eventually earning a PhD in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology from UCSD. My doctoral dissertation involved characterizing the regulatory genetics of the adrenaline-synthesis gene PNMT, as well as more broadly studying the human adrenergic stress pathway. Seeking additional training in genomics and statistics, I spent a year working with Kelly Frazer at the Moores UCSD Cancer Center, followed by a move to Weill Cornell Medical College in 2010. As a postdoc, I developed a set of genomic analysis skills and tools that I applied to numerous projects, both locally and with international collaborators such as the 1000 Genomes Project, Weill Cornell Medical School in Qatar, and the University of Puerto Rico. In my current appointment as Assistant Professor, I am tasked with developing biotechnology tools for precision medicine.

Biographical details:
I studied medicine in Cambridge and during my junior doctor years was very interested in both neurology and infectious diseases. Clinically I specialised in medical microbiology, keeping a particular interest in neurological infections. For the past 3 years I have been in Saudi Arabia developing a pathogen genomics laboratory where I have gained first-hand experience of second generation sequencing and bioinformatics.
Research interests:
Infectious diseases and medical microbiology are undergoing the most significant shift since PCR was introduced. By the end of this decade, sequencing will have become the main option when investigating any outbreak or infection. I study the interface between genomics as a pure science and its translation into clinical and public health benefits.
At present I am examining the worldwide genomics of tuberculosis, the use of sequencing to characterise MRSA strains and the genomic variations in BCG vaccine strains used around the globe.
