Terje Svingen
Assoc. Prof. Svingen is Head of Research group for Molecular & Reproductive Toxicology at the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark (DTU Food). His research group focuses on how early life exposure to environmental chemicals, particularly endocrine disruptors, can adversely affect development and lead to disease. His research group conducts basic research alongside involvement in regulatory toxicology. Main focus is on the mechanisms of effects leading to reproductive and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Professor for Ecotoxicology and Environmental Sciences at the University of Gothenburg, with a main interest in regulatory (eco)toxicology and risk assessment of complex exposure situations.
Federica Ragazzola
Researcher at Stazione Zoologica Anton Dorhn (Ischia-Italy). My research focuses on understanding the effect of climate change on biomineralization processes and the modification in the ultra-structure of calcifying organisms, in particular in coralline algae.

Tiago M Barbosa
Tiago Barbosa holds an appointment as professor of sport sciences (biomechanics) at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal.
His research interests encompass the forecast and modelling of the performance of elite and age-group athletes, notably in time-based sports. He is serving as Science and Technology consultant for the Portuguese Olympic Committee, board member for the Portuguese Swimming Federation, member of the sub-committee for Events and Development at FINA, the world swimming governing body.
Tiago Barbosa is the biomechananist of Mário Trindade, Paralympics finalist and European champion in wheelchair sprinting events. He also serves in several editorial boards of peer-review journals.
Elena González-Burgos
Assistant professor of Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy at University Complutense of Madrid. Member of the Research Group “Pharmacology of Natural Products”. I obtained my European PhD in Pharmacy in 2012 (Extraordinary Doctoral Prize). I had worked for 3 years in the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS). Expertise in the study of natural products from medicinal plants and lichens as neuroprotective agents, based on their antioxidant properties, against different models of oxidative stress in cell lines of the nervous system (neurons and astrocytes). Author of many scientific publications (25 in indexed journals, 4 in non-indexed journals and 9 chapters of books) as well as communications in national and international congresses. I have participated as researcher in four National funded projects and research stays at prestigious international centers (King’s College of London and Neuroscience Center in Coimbra). Teaching experience at all levels of higher education in Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmacognosy subjects as well as experience in Educational Innovative Projects.
Maurizio Bertollo
Maurizio Bertollo is Associate Professor of Motor Behaviour and Sport Psychology at “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara. He is affiliated with the Dept of Medicine and Aging Sciences, & currently serves as Vice-Director of the Behavioral Imaging and Neural Dynamics (BIND) Center.
Maurizio received his bachelor in Physical Education and Human Movement Science, followed by a master degree in Education (Pedagogy), a master degree in Psychology, and a doctoral degree in Sport Sciences. He also holds specializations in psychotherapy, developmental and learning disabilities, and sport psychology. Currently, he is a chartered psychologist and psychotherapist within the “Ordine Nazionale Psicologi” and member of the FEPSAC Managing council.
He has worked as a scientific consultant, psychologist, and/or coach for many Italian sports clubs, federations (e.g., Modern Pentathlon, Triathlon, Swimming, Rink Hockey, Soccer, Cycling, Track and Field, and Shooting) and for the National Olympic committee. Before moving to the University, he was also PE teacher, School Psychologist and Headmaster.
His research activity focuses on the processes and mechanisms underlying the development, maintenance and improvement of human motor behaviour and performance. Current research interests include Bio-psycho-physiological state underpinning performance, Individual Zones of Optimal Functioning, Stress recovery-balance in sport, Psychophysiological monitoring & intervention in sport.

John A Berges
Professor in Biological Sciences and Freshwater Sciences. PhD Biological Oceanography, U. British Columbia. Postdoctoral work, Brookhaven National Laboratory. Fellow of the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography. Research interests include marine and freshwater phytoplankton and zooplankton ecophysiology and biochemistry, including molecular (e.g. evolution of cell death proteases) and biomathematical (e.g. agent-based modelling) approaches.
Jesse W Young
I am an organismal biologist with broad interests in understanding the developmental and evolutionary biomechanics of the mammalian locomotor system. More specifically, I investigate the morphological and mechanical factors that constrain locomotor performance in mammals, and how these constraints determine the ecological capabilities of an organism across multiple time scales (i.e., over evolutionary time, developmentally during ontogeny, and instantaneously to accomplish a task at hand).
My undergraduate research focused on human motor development. I then changed course to pursue graduate research in anthropology, obtaining a Ph.D. in Anthropological Sciences at Stony Brook University. My doctoral and postdoctoral work focused on growth and motor development in small primates and marsupials. Through these efforts I acquired extensive experience studying the biomechanics of gait in quadrupedal mammals, from infancy through maturity.
Since beginning my tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), my research efforts have centered on two broad foci: 1) understanding the functional, and possibly adaptive, links between somatic growth and locomotor development in mammals and 2) the evolutionary biomechanics of primate arboreal locomotion.
Julia Warnberg
Dr. Julia Warnberg, with a degree in Nutrition (2001) and a PhD in Medicine (2006), currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Nursing at the University of Málaga's School of Health Sciences.
She is the coordinator of the research group EpiPHAAN (Epidemiology, Physical Activity, and Nutrition), which includes three senior researchers, three collaborating senior researchers, three postdoc researchers, and four doctoral candidates. The group also hosts postdoc researchers for research stays.
The group's research focus is primarily on conducting clinical trials related to the Mediterranean Diet and promoting physical activity. Additionally, they study the lifestyles of children and adolescents, particularly in the context of obesity, physical activity, and nutrition. The group is actively involved in developing methods and analyzing motion sensor data (accelerometers) for assessing physical activity.
