Shinya Tsuzuki
Shinya Tsuzuki is a researcher at National Center for Global Health and Medicine, Japan. Currently he leads several research projects related to infectious disease epidemiology, such as disease burden of antimicrobial resistance, COVID-19 epidemics, quantitative evaluation of vaccination policy in Japan, and so forth.
Antonie J (Ton) van den Bogert
Antonie (Ton) van den Bogert is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the Parker-Hannifin Endowed Chair in Human Motion and Control. His current research interests are the dynamics and control of human motion, with applications in sports and rehabilitation.
Carlos Fernando Mourão
Dr. Mourao, a distinguished Brazilian dental surgeon, obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Universidade Estacio de Sa in 2005. He has over 15 years of private practice experience and has developed expertise in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) and Implant Dentistry.
Between 2014 and 2019, Dr. Mourao held the rank of Lieutenant (Officer) in the Brazilian Navy. He served as a dentist in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant Dentistry. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in Boston, United States.
Dr. Mourao's academic background encompasses a professorship in the Department of OMFS at Universidade Estacio de Sa from 2007 to 2012. Presently, he teaches in the graduate program in Dentistry at Sao Paulo University (USP) and Biotechnology at Fluminense Federal University (UFF).
He earned a Master's degree in Surgical Sciences (2012) from the School of Medicine at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil, where he acquired extensive experience in animal research with rabbits, rats, and pigs. Furthermore, he obtained a Ph.D. in Dentistry (2017) from UFF, Brazil, conducting clinical trials during his studies.
After his doctoral studies, Dr. Mourao completed two postdoctoral fellowships at UFF in Biotechnology (2017-2021) and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2018-2021). He has also demonstrated a strong aptitude for securing federal and private grants to support research projects.
As a researcher, Dr. Mourao's areas of specialization include blood-derived growth factors, bone regeneration, tissue engineering, bone graft analysis, dental implants, and oral surgery. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for a wide array of national and international academic journals.
Jiangjiang Qin
Dr. Jiangjiang Qin is currently a Professor of Cancer Pharmacology and Drug Discovery at the Institute of Basic Medicine and Cancer (IBMC), Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Cancer Hospital of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Zhejiang Cancer Hospital).
Dr. Qin received his B.S. degree in Pharmacy (2006) and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering with the highest honor (2011) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, under the supervision of Professor Wei-Dong Zhang. After completion of Post-Doctoral training in cancer biology, pharmacology, and molecular therapeutics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in 2014, Dr. Qin continued his research work at TTUHSC as a Research Associate and a Senior Research Associate and at the University of Houston as a Senior Research Scientist. Dr. Qin joined Zhejiang Chinese Medicinal University as a Full Professor in 2018 and then moved to IBMC in 2020.
Dr. Qin’s research mainly focuses on the discovery and development of novel, effective, and safe anticancer agents as well as demonstrating the molecular targets and mechanisms of action. He has published more than 150 research papers and reviews. He is also an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Pharmacology and Frontiers in Oncology and an Editorial Board Member of more than 10 scientific journals such as Recent Patents on Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery, Journal of Cancer Research Updates, World Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Binh P. Nguyen
Senior Lecturer in Data Science at the School of Mathematics and Statistics in Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand). Former Scientist at the Institute of High Performance Computing, A*STAR (Singapore). Former Research Fellow at Duke-NUS Medical School and National University of Singapore (Singapore).
Lin Zhang
Dr. Lin Zhang is Associate professor within the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Hubei University of Chinese Medicine, Wuhan, China.
His research interests focus on:
1）How ectotherms (with tropical lizard as subject) linking bioenergetics and overwintering strategy during global warming
2）Macro-evolution including activity, metabolism and reproduction in squamate
Dagmara Żyła
I am a Coleoptera Curator and a Head of Coleoptera Section at the Museum of Nature Hamburg. I work on phylogenomics, systematics, and evolution of rove beetles (Staphylinidae).
Stephen J Livesley
Stephen investigates soil-plant-atmosphere interactions in natural and managed ecosystems. Stephen studied in the UK gaining a PhD in Soil Science and Agroforestry from The University of Reading.
At the University of Melbourne, Stephen has led research to quantify the carbon and greenhouse gas implications of landscape management and land-use change events in forest, woodlands and now the urban landscape. Stephen’s urban ecosystem research and teaching interests relate to the role of trees, soil and other vegetation systems in providing environmental and social benefits, such as microclimate cooling, energy saving, carbon sequestration, biodiversity habitat and improved nutrient / water cycling.
Barbara Nowak
Barbara is Professor at the University of Tasmania (UTAS), where she leads Aquatic Animal Health research group. Barbara has her PhD from Sydney University and has been working at UTAS since 1991. Her research interests focus on various aspects of fish health, such as fish parasitology, fish immunology and fish pathology. Barbara has published over 200 papers and supervised more than 30 PhD students. She has received awards for her research and supervision of PhD students.

Atsushi Fukushima
I am a professor at Kyoto Prefectural University. My current research interests focus on characterization of metabolic regulatory networks and integrated analysis of multi-omics data in plants. I am a member of the editorial board for BMC Genomics, Plant Methods, Frontiers in Plant Science, Plants, BioTech, and PeerJ.
Travis Beddoe
Prof. Travis Beddoe is a multidisciplinary scientist, training initially as a plant biochemist before studying molecular chaperones in mitochondrial targeting as a PhD student (awarded March 2004), and eventually training in biophysical and structural biology in immune receptors as a postdoctoral researcher. He started his independent research career at Monash University with an NHMRC CDA fellowship (2008) followed by a Pfizer Australia Research fellowship (2010) in the area of glycan specificity in bacterial pathogenesis and physiology. Dr. Beddoe changed research fields when he was recruited to La Trobe University in 2014 as a senior lecturer to establish a laboratory focused on livestock-pathogen interactions in the School of Animal, Plant and Soil Science located in the AgriBio centre. His research is concentrated on aiding animal health with a focus on field-based diagnostics, molecular understanding of the role glycans and glycan-binding proteins play in disease pathogenesis and vaccine development.
