Pragyan Acharya
Dr. Pragyan Acharya is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. The major interests of her laboratory is in understand immune dysregulation in liver diseases and understanding the interaction of the immune system in tissue injury and infection. Towards this, she combines studies on clinical samples, in vitro cultures and animal models of liver disease. She is specifically studying non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) using proteomics and cell biological approaches. Work carried out in her laboratory has led to the identification of the importance of the CD177+ neutrophil sub-population in ACLF and its association with patient outcomes.

Ripon Sarkar
Ripon Sarkar is a dedicated researcher with over a decade of experience in cutting-edge technology in the fields of mitochondrial metabolism, neuroinflammation and cardiovascular biology. Dr. Sarkar has demonstrated a profound commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and innovation.
Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The UTHealth at Houston, Dr. Sarkar's research focuses on linking cardiovascular disease to neuroinflammation to understand the molecular mechanism of microglia cell signaling. Simon J Hubbard
I am a Professor in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at the University of Manchester. My scientific career has taken me from a PhD in Biochemistry at UCL, London, via the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, back to Manchester in the UK where I undertook a Wellcome Trust fellowship, before gaining a Lectureship in 1998. My research covers themes in computational and systems biology and bioinformatics. We apply computational approaches to the study of biological systems and molecules, and my particular areas of interests are broadly in the areas of protein and genome bioinformatics including quantitative proteomics, regulation of gene expression (and particularly translation from mRNA to protein), and general bioinformatics.

Pablo A Marquet
Dr. Marquet is a Chilean Ecologist, known for his contributions in the fields of macroecology, theoretical ecology, conservation, and global change, and author of 190 publications including three books. Early in his carrier he started working on the quest for general principles underlying the complexity of ecological systems that contributed to the disciplines of metabolic ecology and ecological scaling. His work on the relationship between the size of organisms and their abundance proved to be of great generality as well as his work on the evolution of body size on landmasses; connecting body size to area, evolution, and fitness. He pioneered the development of Metapopulation models in dynamic landscapes uniting concepts from epidemiology and ecology and the emergence of power laws in ecological systems, being among the first to provide empirical evidence of Self-Organized Criticality in ecological systems using the extinction record of birds in Hawaii. In parallel, he carried important work on the conservation of vertebrate species and on the impact of climate change in the Americas and Europe. His current work focuses on the emergence of ecological diversity, the drivers and consequences of human cultural complexity and the integration of theories in ecology. He is member of the Chilean National Academy of Science, a former Guggenheim Fellow and member of the science board of several national and international organizations.

Markus A Hobert
Markus A. Hobert is specialist for neurology an geriatrics at the University of Luebeck. His clinical focus is on neurogeriatrics, Parkinson's disease, dementia and deep brain stimulation. His scientific focus is on quantitative movement analysis, geriatric assessment and motor-cognitive interaction during walking in geriatric patients and patients with neurodegenerative diseases.

Tetsuro Matsuzawa
Majoring Comparative Cognitive Science; Primatology. PhD from Kyoto University in 1989. Tetsuro Matsuzawa has been studying chimpanzees both in the laboratory and the wild. The laboratory work is known as the "Ai-project" in the Primate Research Institute of Kyoto University since 1977: A female chimpanzee named Ai learned to use Arabic numerals to represent numbers (Matsuzawa, 1985, Nature). The fieldwork has been carried out in Bossou-Nimba, Guinea, since 1986, focusing on the tool use and the culture in the wild. Matsuzawa tries to synthesize the field and the lab work to understand the mind of chimpanzees to know the evolutionary origins of the human mind. He published the English books such as “Primate Origins of Human Cognition and Behavior", “Cognitive Development in Chimpanzees", “The Minds of the Chimpanzees”, and “The Chimpanzees of Bossou and Nimba".
