I'm an ecologist and environmental scientist who studies a diversity of conservation and restoration issues for biodiversity and ecosystems.
I am currently an Associate Research Scientist at the Huntsman Marine Science Centre, working in the Atlantic salmon breeding and genetics division. I am tackling various research projects that involve genomically characterizing qualitative and quantitative traits. I recently finished a postdoc position at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, working on various population structure and evolutionary genetics projects. Specifically, I was focusing on mito-nuclear interactions in trans-Atlantic fish, environmental associations and population structure in cleaner fish, and structural variants.
Dr. Barbara Langille obtained a PhD from the University of Adelaide, where she investigated the regression of vision/eye genes in subterranean diving beetles, evaluated modes of speciation, and determined behavioral responses of eyeless beetles to light. Dr. Langille also obtained a MSc from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, where she investigated the refugial origins and hybridization of freshwater fish.
After graduating from the veterinary program at the University of Bristol, U.K., with honors, Dr. Lascelles completed a PhD in aspects of pre-emptive/perioperative analgesia at the University of Bristol. After an internship there, he completed his surgical residency at the University of Cambridge, U.K. and then a Fellowship in Oncological Surgery at Colorado State University. He is currently Professor in Small Animal Surgery and Pain Management at North Carolina State University.
Michel Laurin is a Research Scientist at CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique). His specialty is the evolution of vertebrates from the Devonian to the Triassic. His current interests include dating the tree of life using paleontological data using new methods, bone microanatomy and paleohistology, biological nomenclature, as well as other problems such as the invasion of land by vertebrates and the origin of extant amphibians. Dr Laurin's work has introduced many innovations in paleontology and paleobiology, notably in the form of various computer programs, mostly developed by his collaborators, some of which can be used to perform paleontological dating of the tree of life or to analyse bone microanatomical data. He has supervised 7 doctoral students so far and has led the team “Squelette des vertébrés” (which included eight tenured scientists, a postdoc, a technician, and six doctoral students) from 2007 to 2008, he has also been the leader of the team "Metazoan Phylogeny and Diversification" since 2014. He is a member of several scientific societies, and has served the ISPN (International Society for Phylogenetic Nomenclature) as both Secretary and President. He served one term as President of the Association Paléontologique Française (APF). He is a frequent reviewer for over 50 journals and currently serves on seven editorial boards, including for the Journal of Evolutionary Biology. In January 2011, he became Chief Editor of the Comptes Rendus Palevol.

The aim of our research group is to understand the dependency between environmental cues (e.g. light and temperature) that underlie circadian rhythms in symbiotic marine organisms, reef-building corals, in regulating physiology and behavior. Symbiotic corals will serve as a model system to investigate the dependency between two circadian-system associations or non-associations in the simple multicellular organism, on the physiological and molecular levels.

Dongming Li is a Professor at the College of Life Sciences, Hebei Normal University. His research focuses on the mechanisms of how animals adjust their morphology, physiology, and behavior to respond to the changing (or extreme) environments in free-living animals, especially birds.
Raquel López-Antoñanzas is a CNRS researcher at the Institut des sciences de l'évolution (University of Montpellier). In 2004, she received her PhD from the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris (France). She works on the evolution of micromammals with a special focus on those from the Cenozoic of the Old World.
Graduated in Biological Science - University of Buenos Aires (1991), Ph.D. in Science - University of Buenos Aires (1997). Developed postdoctoral experience in CPqRR-FIOCRUZ (1999-2002) and Swedish Agricultural University (2009-2011). Associate researcher (between 2002-2006) and senior researcher of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (since then). Main experience in Insect Physiology (emphasis on Behavioral Physiology), acting on the following topics: behavior, pheromones, kairomones, electrophysiology, functional genomics of sensory processes, triatomines, culicids, development of baits and traps for vector control. More than 60 papers published on diverse topics related to insect neuroethology. His research group studies the sensory ecology of disease vectors using a multidisciplinary approach. Research by the group takes advantage of techniques ranging from neurobiology to analytical chemistry, molecular biology and behavior. Editorial board member of PLOS ONE, Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution, Physiological Entomology and Neotropical Entomology. Current Vice-President of Latin American Association of Chemical Ecology and recently elected councilor of the International Society of Chemical Ecology.
Dr. Kevin C. K. Ma is Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Department of Zoology at the University of British Columbia, Canada.
Kevin is passionate about the ecology of intertidal habitats around the Salish Sea (western Canada) and is a researcher with the Sentinels of Change, which is part of the integrated coastal observatory based out of the Hakai Institute. His work focuses on uncovering the patterns and processes that shape intertidal biodiversity, with a particular interest in understanding how this system responds to the effects of climate change

Research interests include benthic ecology, trophic ecology and systematics, with special focus on taxonomy of annelid polychaetes.
