Massimiliano Fasi is a Lecturer in Software Engineering at the School of Computing of the University of Leeds. He obtained a PhD from the University of Manchester in 2019, and has held positions in the UK (University of Manchester and Durham University) and in Sweden (Örebro University).
His research interests include scientific computing, computer arithmetic, and numerical analysis, with particular focus on numerical linear algebra.
Prof. Dr. Jiachen Yang is an Associate Editor for “Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing”, “Alexandria Engineering Journal”, “IEEE Access”, “IET Image Processing”, “Sensors”, etc. Currently, he is a Professor at the School of Electronical and Information Engineering, Tianjin University. From 2014 to 2015, he was a visiting scholar with the Department of Computer Science, School of Science, Loughborough University, U.K. In 2019, He was a visiting scholar with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His recent research interests include image processing, artificial intelligence, and information security. He has published more than 150 technical articles in highly ranked journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Neural Network and Learning System, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, etc. His Google Scholar H-index is 28.
Dr. Carlos Fernandez-Lozano is an Associate Professor at the University of A Coruña (UDC). He is a biomedical data scientist with a deep interest in discovering the complex relationships between different biological levels. His research track is multidisciplinary as he is trained in computer science, machine learning, bioinformatics, and biostatistics. His research line is focused on how biological interactions are manifested at the disease level through the use, development, and application of kernel-based computational approaches that integrate different levels of biological data on the microorganism, gene, protein, and medical imaging axis.
Ana Gabriela Maguitman is a Researcher at the National Council for Science and Technology (CONICET) of Argentina and an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina). She obtained her PhD in Computer Science at Indiana University (USA). Dr. Maguitman leads the Knowledge Management and Information Retrieval Research Group at Universidad Nacional del Sur (http://ir.cs.uns.edu.ar/).
Dr. Consolato M. Sergi is Chief of Anatomical Pathology of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and Emeritus Professor of Pathology and Pediatrics of the University of Alberta, Canada. Dr. Sergi was born in Rome (Italy), obtained his MD degree with honors at the University of Genoa, Italy, his Human Pathology degree at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, the title of the hon. Clinical Reader of the University of Bristol, UK, his Ph.D./Habilitation at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, his MSc Public Health in Austria, and his FRCPC degree at the Royal College in Ottawa. Dr. Sergi’s specialty areas of interest are congenital heart disease and metabolic diseases, obstructive cholangiopathies, carcinogenesis (bone/soft tissue/liver), gut microbiome, and mitochondrial DNA related cardiomyopathies.
Sándor Szénási has earned his MSc degree in 2004 from Faculty of Informatics of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. He has received his PhD in 2013 from Doctoral School of Applied Informatics (GSAI) of Óbuda University, Budapest.
Currently, he is an associate professor in the Institute of Applied Informatics of John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, Óbuda University, Budapest. He is the leader of the local CUDA Teaching Center.
His research areas are (data) parallel algorithms, GPU programming and medical image processing. He engages both in theoretical fundamentals and in algorithmic issues with respect to realization of practical requirements and given constraints.
He is the member of the John von Neumann Computer Society and IEEE, and also a reviewer of several conferences and journals.
Davide Chicco is a scientific researcher at the University of Toronto. He received his PhD. from Politecnico di Milano in 2014, and his MSc. in Computer Science from the University of Genoa, Italy in 2010. From September 2018 to January 2020 he was a researcher at the University Health Network (Toronto, Ontario, Canada). Davide Chicco's research centres on biomedical informatics and machine learning.
My research has covered a range of topics, including human-computer interaction, information visualization, bioinformatics, universal usability, security, privacy, and public policy implications of computing systems. I am currently working on a variety of NIH-funded projects, including areas such as bioinformatics research portals, visualization for review of chart records, and tools for aiding the discovery of animal models of human diseases.
Jose Alberto Benítez-Andrades received the B.S. degree in Computer Engineering and PhD in Production Engineering and Computing from the University of León, Spain, in 2010 and 2017 respectively. He is Associate Professor at the University of León. His research is related to the application of artificial intelligence techniques, knowledge engineering and social network analysis applied mainly to problems related to the field of health. He has more than 40 publications indexed in JCR, 30 communications in international conferences, is associate editor of the journal BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making, has organized several international conferences since 2018 and is an evaluator of international projects for the government of Spain and Peru.
Stefano Cirillo is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Salerno, Italy.
His research interests include Data Profiling, Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, Data Privacy, and Social Networks, in which he has published several articles in international journals, books, and conference proceedings.
He graduated in Computer Science (cum laude) in 2018, at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Salerno. In 2022 he received the Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Salerno, with a Ph.D. course funded by the Programma Operativo Nazionale (PON) 2014-2020.
In 2018 he worked at the Centro Regionale Information Communication Technology (CeRICT) scrl based in Benevento, Italy, for designing, implementing, and developing an intelligent search engine for call-for-tenders in the e-procurement domain. In 2019 he was a visiting researcher at the Datonix SpA in Naples (NA), aimed at the design and development of algorithms for the extraction of profiling metadata from relational and non-relational databases. In 2020 he spent a research period at the Information Systems group of the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) affiliated with the University of Potsdam, Germany.
From 2022 to 2023 he was a Research Fellow at the University of Salerno for the research activity within the project "Profiling Data Streams for Anomaly Detection And Online Learning".
In 2022 he was an adjunct professor for the course of Databases, II year, for the Degree course in Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Salerno.
Since 2023 he is an Assistant Professor at the University of Salerno for the project "Security and Rights in the CyberSpace (SERICS)".
He was Program Co-Chair of the International DMS Conference on Visualization and Visual Languages (2021) and Conference Co-Chair of the International DMS Conference on Visualization and Visual Languages (2022).
