Dr. Julia Warnberg, with a degree in Nutrition (2001) and a PhD in Medicine (2006), currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Nursing at the University of Málaga's School of Health Sciences.
She is the coordinator of the research group EpiPHAAN (Epidemiology, Physical Activity, and Nutrition), which includes three senior researchers, three collaborating senior researchers, three postdoc researchers, and four doctoral candidates. The group also hosts postdoc researchers for research stays.
The group's research focus is primarily on conducting clinical trials related to the Mediterranean Diet and promoting physical activity. Additionally, they study the lifestyles of children and adolescents, particularly in the context of obesity, physical activity, and nutrition. The group is actively involved in developing methods and analyzing motion sensor data (accelerometers) for assessing physical activity.
Chiyuan Miao is a full professor in the Faculty of Geographical Science,Beijing Normal University, China. His researches mainly focus on the soil erosion (slope scale), Eco-hydrology (watershed scale) and climate change (continent/global scale).
Henrique Pereira Neiva is a Professor in the Department of Sport Sciences at the University of Beira Interior and a member of the Research Center in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Development (CIDESD). He concluded his degree in Sport and Physical Education in the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto and, in 2015, finished his PhD in Sport Sciences at the University of Beira Interior. In the last 5 years, more than 130 documents were produced, among books, book chapters papers in Journals indexed at the Web of Science Core Collection (n = 104) and in other international scientific journals, conference proceedings, and all peer-reviewed publications. The impact of the research in the last years was recognized: invitation for oral communications in national and international conferences, peer-reviews in high-ranked journals, supervision of Doctoral (6 completed), Master (33 completed) and Bachelor students. His investigation has focused on training control and evaluation, strength training, and endurance training in different populations.
Professor of Dental Public Health in Alexandria University, Egypt.
Dr Mohamed Lounis is a Lecturer at the Department of Agroveterinary Sciences, University of Ziane Achour Djelfa, Algeria. He completed his PhD in veterinary epidemiology from the University of Blida in 2018.
His research broadly concentrates on human and animal epidemiology. More precisely, he began his research on animal colibacillosis including calf and avian colibacillosis with Escherichia coli genotyping and phenotyping and antibiotic resistance. Later, he conducted multiple studies related to the epidemiology of COVID-19 in Algeria and in Arabic countries. These works were mainly based on modeling the propagation of the disease and the attitudes toward COVID-19 and its vaccines.
Dr. Lounis is also working on a One health approach through different surveys about multiple animal and public health threats including drug use and antibiotic resistance, infectious diseases including HPV infections, AIDS, monkeypox, viral hepatitis (A-E) and other zoonotic diseases including bacterial (tuberculosis, brucellosis...), parasitic (echinococcosis, leishmaniasis…) and viral (rabies, arboviroses…) diseases. He is also working on the epidemiology of non transmissible diseases including cancer, diabetes, hypertension..
I completed my Ph.D dissertation at the University of Zurich, Switzerland where the major focus of my PhD research project was the study of endogenous feline leukemia virus (enFeLV) in cats during exogenous feline leukemia virus (FeLV) infection. My interest in retroviruses led me into the HIV research after Ph.D. My postdoctoral research project at University of California, San Francisco was on HIV immunology. On completion of my Post Doc, I joined Dr Ndhlovu’s new laboratory at the University of Hawaii to pursue studies on HIV and Aging based on my expertise and experience to address a new area of HIV research in which have interest.
Currently my research work as an Assistant Professor at JNU, New Delhi, India is focused on aging in HIV-1-infected people. Approximately one in five individuals living with HIV infection in the United States is 50 years of age or older. This proportion continues to increase as HIV incidence remains stable and potent antiretroviral therapy has reduced the morbidity and mortality associated with HIV infection. However, premature aging and non-AIDS related morbidity including cancer seem to be a new big problem in HAART era. Chronic inflammation in treated HIV-1-infected subjects seems to play an important role in non-AIDS –related complications. The main goal of my research is to investigate the mechanism of HIV mediated accelerated aging/inflammation in HAART-suppressed HIV-1 infected people.
Professor of physiology and pharmacology at Federal University of Ceara. Research focuses on a combination of marine natural product discovery with molecular and cellular biology to identify new anticancer leads.
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the State Natural History Museum in Stuttgart. I completed my PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2019. My work focuses on teleosauroids, a group of semi-marine Jurassic crocodylomorphs, and aspects of their morphology, phylogenetics, taxonomy and ecology. For my postdoc I am studying their ontogeny and body size distribution during the Early Jurassic.
