Ligia Rusu
Dr. Ligia Rusu is a Professor within the Department of Kinetotherapy and Sport Medicine at the University of Craiova, Romania.
HIs research areas include neurologic rehabilitation, neuromuscular assessment, physiology and biomechanics. More specifically, sports medicine, neurologic rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, and orthotics and prosthetics.
Kazuki Takakura
Dr. Jonas Frederikson is an orthopedic surgeon who believes that patient care should be a physician's first priority. He specializes in laparoscopic procedures that minimize pain and recovery time, and has expertise in minimally invasive total knee replacement surgeries. Awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the American Medical Association in 2017, Dr. Frederikson has been published in both the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New England Journal of Medicine. He holds a medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the field of orthopedic medicine.
Dean S Venables
Dr Dean Venables is a lecturer in physical & environmental chemistry in the School of Chemistry and in the Environmental Research Institute, University College Cork. He is a research leader in the Centre for Research into Atmospheric Chemistry and is also affiliated with the Tyndall National Institute. His research interests focus on atmospheric chemistry and spectroscopic instrument development for quantifying trace gases and characterising aerosol optical properties.
Dr. Santhana Krishna Kumar Alagarsamy
Dr. Santhana Krishna Kumar is an assistant professor (adjunct) from the faculty of Geology Geophysical and Environmental Protection at AGH University Science and Technology (2021– at present), in Poland.
He acquired wide variety of experimental knowledge, which mainly involved intricate research on remediation of chromium, mercury and arsenic for extensive elimination by suitably tailored solid support of carbon based adsorbents.
Mateo Alajarin
Mateo Alajarin graduated in chemistry at the Universidad de Murcia, where he also received his PhD. After postdoctoral studies with Prof. Alan R. Katritzky at the University of Florida (USA) he returned to the Universidad de Murcia where he is currently Full Professor at its Department of Organic Chemistry. His research interests include ketenimines and related heterocumulenes, supramolecular chemistry, organophosphorus reagents, tandem processes promoted by H shifts, and other pericyclic and pseudopericyclic reactions.
Robert S Weber
Dr. Robert Weber is a Senior Engineer (Emeritus) at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He is experienced in heterogeneous catalysis, reaction kinetics, especially as they relate to renewable energy and process intensification. Dr. Weber was formerly, an associate editor of the Journal of Catalysis and Energy & Fuels. He currently serves on the editorial advisory boards of ACS Omega and AIChE Journal of Advanced Manufacturing and Processing.
David Hu
Dr. David Hu is a mechanical engineer who studies the interactions of animals with water. He has discovered how dogs shake dry, how insects walk on water, and how eyelashes protect the eyes from drying. Originally from Rockville, Maryland, he earned degrees in mathematics and mechanical engineering from M.I.T., and is now Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Biology and Adjunct Professor of Physics at Georgia Tech. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award for young scientists, the Ig Nobel Prize in Physics, and the Pineapple Science Prize (the Ig Nobel of China). His work has been featured in The Economist, The New York Times, Saturday Night Live, and Highlights for Children. He is the author of the book "How to walk on water and climb up walls," published by Princeton University Press.
Christine J Watson
Professor of Cell and Cancer Biology in the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge. Graduate of the University of Glasgow and Imperial College, London.
Michele Clamp
Graduated from Oxford University in physics and proceeded to a physics PhD at Manchester University. Saw the light and came over to biology through protein structure prediction into genome annotation. Founded the Ensembl database alongside Ewan Birney and Tim Hubbard at the Sanger Institute. Crossed the pond to the Broad Institute where many mammals were sequenced and the human gene count trimmed of its fat. Had a short enjoyable interlude in the commercial sphere at Bioteam and is now residing at Harvard University with fingers in many pies.
Eeva-Stiina Tuittila
I research the carbon dynamics of peatlands. Specifically this addresses the impact of climate change on the functioning of the ecosystem, greenhouse gas emissions and vegetation.
Toryn Poolman
Dr. Toryn Poolman is a Lecturer in the Department of Structural & Molecular Biology at University College London.
His primary research interests include applying omics techniques, including RNAseq, phospho-proteomics, and microbiome analysis.
Maria Valeria Raimondi
Prof. Dr. Maria Valeria Raimondi, PhD is Assistant Professor in Medicinal Chemistry, University of Palermo, Italy.
In 2018 and 2020, Dr. Raimondi's was a visiting Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Vienna and the University of Hamburg respectively. Prior to this Dr. Raimondi was Assistant Professor in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Palermo
Her scientific interests include:
-Synthesis and antimicrobial evaluation of new compounds with phenoxyacetamidic and iodobenzamidic structure
-Synthesis and antiproliferative activity of new derivatives with triazenic, tetrazepinonic and indazolocarboxyamidic structure
-Design and synthesis of new derivatives with a 4-quinazolinone structure, potential inhibitors of folate receptors
-Synthesis of new pyrrole derivatives related to pyrrolomycin inhibitors of Sortase A
-Synthesis of pyrazole and indazole derivatives, potential inhibitors of CDK1
-Identification of new sigma receptor ligands. Design and synthesis of a beta-aminoketones drug discovery library
-Microwave-assisted organic synthesis (MAOS) of compounds with potential antitumor activity
-Synthesis of polycyclic structures with marked antitumor activity in vitro
-Qualitative and quantitative analysis of industrial hydrocolls from the citrus industries
