Marisa Fabiana Nicolás

Dr. Marisa Fabiana Nicolás is a biologist with a Ph.D. in Genetics. She worked as a protein annotator in the UniProt/Swiss-Prot database from 2005 to 2007. Since May 2009 she is an Associate Researcher at the Bioinformatics Laboratory (Labinfo) at LNCC/MCTI Brazil. Dr. Nicolas has experience in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Genomics, and Bioinformatics. She works mainly in Bioinformatics applied to the analysis of genomes and transcriptomes (RNAseq and scRNAseq) and metabolic and regulatory networks in clinically relevant pathogens.

Qing Nie

Qing Nie is a Professor of Mathematics and Biomedical Engineering at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Nie's primary research areas include systems biology, stem cells, developmental biology, regulatory networks, stochastic dynamics, and computational mathematics.

Franco Nigro

Full Professor of Plant Pathology at the Department of Soil, Plant and Food Sciences of the University of Bari - Aldo Moro. He holds the courses "Biotechnology for the Health and Safety of Vegetable Production integrated with the Certification of Agri-food Production" (Master's Degree in Biotechnology for Food Quality and Safety), and the module of Phytopathological Bacteriology (Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science and Technology). The research activity focus on some relevant diseases of olive trees (quick decline syndrome, verticillium wilt, anthracnose, cercosporiosis), citrus fruits (Phytophthora root rot, and “mal secco” diseases), stone fruit (white root rot). Recently, he also reported the occurrence of Candidatus Phytoplasma phoenicium, a quarantine pathogen of the almond tree, in Apulia.

Nikolaos Nikoloudakis

Dr. Nikolaos Nikoloudakis is an Assistant Professor at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). He graduated (2002) from the Agricultural Biotechnology Department of the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) and has a MSc in the field of plant biotechnology (2005). He obtained his PhD at the Plant Breeding and Biometry Laboratory (AUA) caring out research involving phylogenetic relationships of Avena species and the study of intergenomic modifications using interspecific hybrids of different ploidy levels (2009). Furthermore, he was a post-doc researcher and a special teaching staff at the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science (ABF) of the Cyprus University of Technology (2017-2022). He has also served as a technical manager of the national reference laboratories of the Hellenic Ministry of Rural Development and Food, regarding GMO detection in seed lots and the control of pathogenic viruses in plant reproductive material (2011-2016). He has contributed to the formation of research networks as a partner from CUT in several national and European projects and participates in several funded research projects (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, Prima, RIF and ECPGR). His main research interests are agricultural biotechnology, plant genetic resources, genotyping, and flow cytometry.

Zemin Ning

Zemin Ning is a Senior Scientific Manager and heads the group of "High Performance Algorithm" at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, UK. Trained in Engineering/Physics, he has been active in genome informatics, specializing in sequence alignment and genome assembly. After completing a PhD degree at Aston University and postdoc training at the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge University, he joined in the Sanger Institute in 1999 to pursue bioinformatics research. Over the past years, he and his colleagues in the group have developed a number of bioinformatics tools, which are widely appreciated by the genomics community. The group has also produced over 30 de novo assemblies from large animal and plant genomes, including Gorilla, Zebrafish, Tasmanian Devil, Panda and Bamboo.

Corey Nislow

Corey Nislow's laboratory develops and uses cutting edge tools to address this central question: how can we understand the biological commonalities in all of the life sciences; from embryonic development, to the spread of infectious diseases to better ways to treat cancer. Each of these disciplines can be explained in the context of competition, interaction and evolution. His lab studies the interface between genes and the environment using parallel genome-wide screens, high throughput cell-based assays and next generation sequencing. Most recently, he and his scientific partner, Dr. Guri Giaever, are exploring how laboratory experiments can co-opt evolutionary processes to understand drug action. He enjoys teaching all aspects of biotechnology, genomics and drug discovery. He got his PhD from the University of Colorado, worked at several Biotechnology companies and was at Stanford and University of Toronto before joining UBC in 2013. He has published 161 papers and run 19 marathons.

Associate professor at Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil. My current research interests center around the pharmacology and toxicology of organochalcogen compounds. Scopus researcher award/2010.

Matias Noll

Dr. Noll is Associate Professor of Public Health and Sport Sciences at the Instituto Federal Goiano. Since 2020, Dr. Noll is the coordinator from the Master Program in Professional and Technological Education in this Institute. Moreover, he is Visiting researcher from the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark.

Dr. Noll received his Ph.D. in Health Sciences from the Medical School, Federal University of Goiás (UFG), Brazil. To date, he has published over 120 peer-reviewed research papers, some of which are in high impact journals, e.g.: Scientific Reports, Clinical Nutrition, Anatomical Sciences Education, Science Communication, Obesity Reviews, etc.

Dr. Noll is a Section Editor for PLOS ONE and reviewer for more than 25 international Journals. He is the coordinator from the Child and Adolescent Health Research Group (GPSaCA) (website: http://www.gpsaca.com.br) and is supervisor to more than 15 students, from undergraduate to doctorate levels.

Ali Noman

Dr. Ali Noman received his PhD from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fuzhou, China. His research and teaching interests include plant-environment Interaction, plant immune responses, and plant survival tactics under changing environments. Currently He serves as an Assistant Professor of Botany at the Government College University, Faisalabad.

He has published many papers in peer reviewed and world renowned journals, such as Science of the Total Environment, Environmental Pollution, Environmental and Experimental Botany, Chemosphere, Environmental Research and many international conferences. Dr. Noman also serves as member of editorial boards and editor for different journals.

Paraskevi Nomikou

Dr Nomikou Paraskevi, Assistant Professor of Physical Geography and Geological Oceanogrpahy has PhD in marine geodynamics (2004) and has participated in more than 70 oceanographic cruises that have focused on the study of submarine volcanism, mud volcanoes, landslides and slope stability and the exploration of seafloor mineral deposits. She has developed a unique understanding of the new-technological methods for deep-sea exploration and successfully integrated them into International research programs. More recently, she has played a leading role in the evaluation of the potential hazards associated with renewed volcanic activity at Santorini volcano in Greece in 2011. Her studies of the underwater area of the volcano where new earthquakes and deformation have been taking place are critical to the ongoing evaluation of future eruption scenarios. She has been a key-person for both local civil officials and the general population to understand the geological processes that might occur and what would be appropriate. She has also been involved in the study of economically important seafloor mineral deposits within the crater of the submarine volcano Kolumbo, off the coast of Santorini. She is focused in forming key research alliances between scientists in different disciplines thus creating powerful interdisciplinary synergies. Her involvement in various EU projects and high volume of publications has established strong collaborations with world-class institutions across Europe
