His is also Head of the Clinical Research Unit at Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar Egas Moniz (CiiEM), Co-Coordinator of the Post-Graduate Program in Clinical Periodontology, Professor of the Post-Graduate Program in Implant Dentistry and an invited Professor at several Post-Graduation Courses.

My current research interests focus on the effects of training load monitoring, exercise recovery intervention on autonomic nervous function, effects of biofeedback training on cardiovascular adaptation, and effects of ageing on neuromuscular function, physical activity and health, and football/futsal sciences

Dr. Ibrahim Elsohaby is Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health and City University of Hong Kong. His current research investigates the One Health epidemiology of infectious and zoonotic diseases, including antimicrobial resistance. The aim of this research is to use epidemiologic and quantitative methods to develop realistic antimicrobial stewardship strategies based on a One Health approach and to reduce the risk of zoonotic diseases transmission to human contacts and general public.

Bachelor in Sport Sciences, summa cum laude (2004) and Specializations Degree in Preventive and Adapted Physical Activity at University of Rome "Foro Italico", summa cum laude (2006). On 2010 he finished the Post Doctoral course in Biomedical and Methodological Aspects of Preventive and Adapted Physical Activities at University of Rome "Foro Italico". During his career, he deepened his knowledge and scientific and clinical skills in the fields of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences focusing on the effects of different Training Program on health in Obese and Older subjects. Since 2009 he has taught as expert in the subject at University of Rome "Foro Italico", then in 2016 as a holder of single courses and integrated courses at the University of Catanzaro "Magna Graecia".The number of publications on indexed peer-reviewed journals with Impact Factor (41 since 2008) and the number of citations received from them (483) shows his high albeit young scientific activity.In 2017 he obtained the MIUR grant (FFABR). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the “Motricidade” , “PeerJ" and "Austin Sports Medicine" journals. Moreover, he is the Reviewer of several international journals, such as Eating and Weight Disorders and International Journal of Sports Medicine. Member of the Italian Society of Sport Sciences (SISMES) and of Italian Society of Andrology and Sexual Medicine (SIAMS).

Prof. Marcelo Ferreira is a medical parasitologist with over 20-year experience in field-oriented and laboratory research. He graduated in Medicine from the University of São Paulo, Brazil (1988), where he was trained in Internal Medicine (1999-2004) and obtained his MSc (1993) and PhD (1997) degrees. Further research training was obtained in Japan (Nagoya University, 1995-97) and the United States (Harvard University, 2005-06). He teaches medical parasitology at the University of São Paulo since 1990 and currently serves as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee on Malaria of the Pan-American Health Organization.

Postdoctoral positions at Princeton University, Oxford University, University of Edinburgh and UCSD. Awards include: NATO Postdoctoral Fellowship (1996), MRC Nonclinical Training Fellowship (1997-2000), a Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award (2008-2013), and Thomson-Reuters Highly Cited Researcher awards in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Dr. Liang Gao currently works as a senior Research Fellow at the Center of Experimental Orthopaedics, Saarland University, Germany. His clinical interests include sports medicine, arthroplasty, and traumatology. His research focuses on joint preservation and orthobiologics.

Dr. Gao studied Medicine in China and Germany with intensive fellowship training in both Asia and Europe. He completed the Musculoskeletal Surgical Oncology residency training at Peking University Medical Center, China. Moreover, he obtained his master of science degree (Radiation Oncology) from Heidelberg University, Germany and his doctorate (Biological Therapy) summa cum laude from Saarland University, Germany.

Dr. Gao is the Member of the Basic Science Committee of International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society (ICRS), the Member of the Early Career Investigator Committee of Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI), and the Founding Member of the Sino Euro Orthopaedics Society (SEOS).
