Ho Leung Ng
Principal Scientist, Atomwise. Adjunct associate professor of biochemistry and biophysics at Kansas State University. Research in computational/AI and structure-based drug design, biophotonics, machine learning for chemistry and drug discovery, protein crystallography.
Simon Man Kit Cheung
Dr. Cheung is a Senior Research Associate of the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Bristol. He is a microbial ecologist specialized in using molecular and bioinformatics techniques to examine the dynamics, determinants and roles of microbial communities in natural and host-associated environments.
Anindita Bhadra
Anindita is a behavioural biologist, working on free-ranging dogs in India. She founded The Dog Lab at the Department of Biological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata in June 2009. The research group focuses on questions pertaining to the ecology, behaviour and cognition of FRDs, and they are interested in understanding the evolution of the dog-human relationship. Anindita is interested in science education, outreach and policy and engages through multiple platforms with the scientific community at large and the public.
David A Ray
I am a broadly trained evolutionary biologist. I also taught high school Biology, Chemistry and Physics before returning to graduate school and earning my PhD from Texas Tech University in 2002. After that, I held postdoctoral and assistant professor positions at Louisiana State University, West Virginia University and Mississippi State University before returning to TTU as an associate professor. My research interests are in organismal and genome evolution with an emphasis on the impacts of transposable elements on both.
Federica Semprucci
Dr. Federica Semprucci is a Researcher with the Department of Biomolecular Sciences of the University of Urbino. Her research interests include analysis of invertebrate biodiversity, taxonomic identification of nematodes, and ecological quality assessment of ecosystems by means of nematode bioindicators.
Lucy J Troup
Dr. Lucy J. Troup is a chartered psychologist (CPsychol) in the Strategic Hub for Psychology, Social Work, Health Behaviours and Addictions at the University of the West of Scotland. She is also holds an Affiliate Faculty appointment at Colorado State University, Colorado, USA. Her research focus is centered round Emotion Processing using Event Related Potentials to better understand the endogenous and exogenous variables that influence emotional expression recognition. Currently the main emphasis in the Troup lab is to understand how Cannabis effects emotion processing.
Dr. Troup received her Undergraduate degree in Psychology form the University of Plymouth in the UK. Her graduate work, translational M.Sc. in Intelligent Systems and Ph.D in Computational and Cognitive Neuroscience were also awarded from the University of Plymouth under the direction of Prof. Mike Denham, Professor Emeritus Center for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience.
Silvia Comani
I am Full Professor of Applied Physics, affiliated to the Department of Neuroscience, Imaging and Clinical Sciences, at the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti – Pescara, Italy.
My research focuses on biomedical signal processing, mainly on development of methods for removal of artefacts from EEG signals recorded in adults and neonates, and of methods to study brain dynamics and inter-organ functional dynamics in adults and infants to detect the neural correlates of behavior in studies adopting a multimodal and multidisciplinary approach.
Yuki Yamada
He is an associate professor of Faculty of Arts and Science, Kyushu University. He finished his PhD in 2008 where he carried out research looking at spatial localization. He is now expanding his research interests to emotion, personality, and consciousness as well as spatial and time perceptions. Awarded The Young Scientists' Award by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2021.
He serves as a senior editor of Journal of Illusion and as a managing board member of PCI Registered Reports. He is also an editorial board member of Scientific Reports, Collabra: Psychology, Japanese Psychological Research, Trends in Scholarly Publishing, and Cognitive Studies.
Gavin B Stewart
Gavin is interested in applied research synthesis (combining scientific information to inform policy). Primary interests are meta-analysis and Bayesian belief networks. He has a deep mislike of P values much preferring effect sizes and confidence intervals, or better still probabilities of direct relevance to decision-making. Gavin's work on meta-analysis spans applied agriculture, food, rural development, ecology and medicine reflecting a belief in generic methods for Evidence Based X (EBX).
I am an elected member of the Society for Research Synthesis Methods and associate editor of its journal, Research Synthesis Methods. I am also associate editor for PeerJ and statistical editor for the Cochrane Pain and Palliative Care Group. I’m a member of the National Centre for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis Meta-analysis Working Group and co-author of the Handbook of Meta-analysis in ecology and evolution. I am also co-chair and editor of a new Campbell Collaboration Food Security group.
Paula Baptista
Paula Baptista is currently Auxiliary Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), coordinator of the topic "Sustainable Agriculture and Innovative Agro-food Chains" of the “Mountain Research Center” and the convenor of the International Organisation for Biological Control (IOBC), working group ‘Integrated protection of olive crops”. Her main interests are focused on plant-microbe-insect interactions, biological control, plant microbiome and microbial biocontrol agents.
Ziarih Hawi
Dr Ziarih Hawi is a Senior Research Fellow in Psychiatric Genetics at the Institute of Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience. Dr Hawi has been investigating genetic predisposition to psychiatric disorders with particular emphasis on the genetic of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He has successfully identified risk gens for ADHD, narrowed down regions of associations and has functionally characterised some of the ADHD-associated genes.
Xosé Anxelu G. Morán
Research Professor at the Oceanographic Center of Gijón/Xixón (IEO, CSIC), Spain. I was Associate Professor of Marine Science, Red Sea Research Center, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, from 2014 to 2020 (currently adjunct). I joined the IEO in 2001 after my PhD training at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM, CSIC) in Barcelona. I am a biological oceanographer and microbial ecologist addressing the role of microbial plankton in biogeochemical carbon cycling from different perspectives. My research interests include the trophic relationships between phytoplankton and heterotrophic prokaryotes, the long-term dynamics of planktonic microorganisms and their response to global change, with particular emphasis on warming using the metabolic ecology framework. I combine experimental approaches with large-scale observations, both spatial and temporal, in order to predict the future direction and extent of change in the structure and functioning of marine microbial food webs.
