I am an Associate Professor and Head at the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, and the director of the Natural Resources and Environmental Research Center at the University of Haifa in Israel. I am an alumnus of the Global Young Academy. I received a PhD in Analysis and Governance of Sustainable Development from the University of Venice (Italy) in 2008. An environmental engineer by training, my research spans over a range of fields including the valuation and mapping of ecosystem services and the passive crowdsourcing of social media data in environmental research. I have published >50 peer-reviewed scientific articles and contributed to high-profile international initiatives such as TEEB-The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity, the UNEP/GEF Project for Ecosystem Services (ProEcoServ), and the Ecosystem Service Partnership.
Dr. Sabir Hussain is serving as a Professor at the Government College University Faisalabad. He is an environmental scientist with a PhD (Specialization in Environmental Microbiology) from University of Burgundy, Dijon, France.
His research is primarily focused on devising the strategies for biological wastewater treatment. He has conducted several studies on the isolation and characterization of novel microbial strains involved in biodegradation and biotransformation of different organic compounds including pesticides and synthetic dyes existing in soil and water resources.
Dr. Muhammad Aamer Mehmood is a Professor of Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology at Government College University Faisalabad, a Distinguished Expert, and Visiting Professor of Industrial Biotechnology at Sichuan University of Science & Engineering. He is a recipient of several national/international awards/funding. He is serving as an Editor of several reputed journals.
Dr. Tanvir Shahzad is an Associate Professor at the Government College University, Faisalabad. He is an environmental scientist with a PhD in Agronomy, Ecology, Biogeochemistry from AgroParisTech.
Dr. Shahzad's research focuses on the intersections of soil biology, soil ecology, and use and assessment of nanomaterials for the benefit and sustainability of soils, more specifically, he is currently working on making Pakistan's soils sustainable.
Dr. Nasim Ahmad Yasin is a Associate Professor at the University of the Punjab carrying out research in the field of Horticulture and Environmental Science.
