Steven John Thompson

Former faculty at Johns Hopkins University, Dartmouth College, UC Davis. I have been teaching college students for over 25 years. My research expertise is in Internet phenomena: access, addiction, agency, control, dependency, governance, and policy; and engineering ethics in Science, Technology, and Society (STS) merging the Internet with physical bodies. I am the Editor for Machine Law, Ethics and Morality in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (2021); Androids, Cyborgs, and Robots in Contemporary Culture and Society (2017); and, Global Issues and Ethical Considerations in Human Enhancement Technologies (2014).

Gregory M Verutes

Gregg Verutes is a biogeographer currently supporting Blue Forest Conservation's data management, visualization, and reporting systems. He specializes in blending the fields of conservation and technology to empower planners, managers, and analysts who are passionate about protecting the multitude of benefits flowing from ecosystems to people. He has previously worked for the National Geographic Society, Audubon Society, World Wildlife Fund, and Stanford University. Gregg received his Ph.D. in Marine Science & Technology from the University of Santiago de Compostela, a M.Sc. in Geographic Information Science from San Diego State University, and B.Sc. in Policy Analysis & Management from Cornell University.

Huiyu Zhou

Prof. Huiyu (Joe) Zhou received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Radio Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology of China and a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Dundee of United Kingdom, respectively. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Vision from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Prof. Zhou currently heads the Applied Algorithms and AI (AAAI) Theme and leads the Biomedical Image Processing Lab at University of Leicester. He was the Director of MSc Programme (2018-19), and currently is the Coordinator of MSc Distance Learning and a Member of Research Committee at School of Informatics. Prior to this appointment, he worked as a Lecturer (2012-17) at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen's University Belfast.

Prof. Zhou has published widely in the field. He was the recipient of "CVIU 2012 Most Cited Paper Award", "MIUA 2020 Best Paper Award", "ICPRAM 2016 Best Paper Award in the Area of Applications" and was shortlisted for "ICPRAM 2017 Best Student Paper Award" and "MBEC 2006 Nightingale Prize".
