Summary

I research artificial intelligence using artificial life and digital evolution as research tools. As such, I spend most of my time studying intelligent animal behaviors, such as decision-making and cooperation, to figure out how we can reproduce those intelligent behaviors in a machine.

In my free time, I work on data analysis and visualization problems and publish them on my blog (www.randalolson.com/blog/). I am also a community leader for the popular data visualization community /r/DataIsBeautiful, which serves over 2,000,000 unique visitors every month.

I am an ardent advocate of open science and publish all of my work openly on the web. You can follow my work on my GitHub and Twitter in the fields below.
