Assessment of the factors influencing primary care physicians’ approach to vaccination of adult risk groups in Istanbul, Turkey
Gregory Gilbert –– The attitude of PCPs is important in bolstering herd immunity. PCPs can educate their patients in the importance of such a concept.
Dynamics of a methanol-fed marine denitrifying biofilm: 1-Impact of environmental changes on the denitrification and the co-occurrence of Methylophaga nitratireducenticrescens and Hyphomicrobium nitrativorans
Joseph Gillespie –– Important insight for developing optimal denitrifying bioprocesses
Validity of the iLOAD® app for resistance training monitoring
Scotty Butcher –– This new app solves a problem with current apps in the resistance monitoring literature by allowing real-time velocity feedback. The authors have shown excellent validity compared with direct velocity measures.
Patient-reported outcomes measured with and without dizziness associated with non-specific chronic neck pain: implications for primary care
Justin Keogh –– This paper is highly relevant to practitioners working with patients with neck pain, particularly with respect to how dizziness may influence their quality of life and optimal care.
Application of cell-free DNA sequencing in characterization of bloodborne microbes and the study of microbe-disease interactions
Cheng-Chia Yu –– The research will facilitate our understanding how microorganisms participate in the onset and development of diseases
Discovery of novel astrovirus genotype species in small ruminants
Fernando Spilki –– The manuscript provides new information about the genetic diversity of astroviruses in small ruminants.
The effects of a 4-week mesocycle of barbell back squat or barbell hip thrust strength training upon isolated lumbar extension strength
Justin Keogh –– This study demonstrates similar improvements in lower body strength after performing four weeks of back squat compared to barbell hip thrusts, although no change in isometric lumbar extension strength was observed. As the lumbar extensors need to contract isometrically during many exercises such as squats and deadlifts, the addition of isolated lumbar extension exercises may be required.
Infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus: advances in diagnosis and vaccine development
Mohammad Shamsur Rahman –– Excellent review on diagnosis and vaccine development of IHNV!
Soil carbon mineralization in response to nitrogen enrichment in surface and subsurface layers in two land use types
Siouxsie Wiles –– Nitrogen enrichment has negative impacts on terrestrial carbon cycling. For years subsoil carbon has been neglected but recent work has challenged the assumption that subsoil carbon is quasi-permanent and will not matter in climate change scenarios. The authors results suggest that nitrogen enrichment may increase carbon sequestration both in surface and subsurface layers, an important implication for climate change modelling.
Towards optimized viral metagenomes for double-stranded and single-stranded DNA viruses from challenging soils
Alexandre Anesio –– Determination of viral metagenomes in soils is extremely challenging and one of the hindrances why we know much less about soil viruses compared to aquatic viruses. This paper take us a good step forward towards an efficient method to analyse viruses in soils.
