PeerJ Author & Reviewer

Summary

I am a computational biologist focussing on the analysis of microbial communities. There are two strands to my research the development of bioinformatics tools for the analysis of sequence data and statistics for modelling community structure. I originally trained as a physicist but switched to biological modelling during my PhD at the University of Manchester (2002) and became interested in microbial communities when I started a fellowship at the University of Glasgow in 2007 in the School of Engineering. The major focus of my research in Glasgow was engineering communities but since 2014, I have been employed under a Medical Research Council fellowship at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick.
