Previously a Principal Investigator at the USDA/ARS-UC-Berkeley Plant Gene Expression Center; research focused on the molecular biology of plant reproduction. Has served on many editorial boards, including Plant Journal, Plant Physiology and Molecular Plant, and currently is on the boards of PeerJ and eLIfe, and is the Research Highlights Editor for Plant Journal. 2011 Fellow of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB); 2011 Fellow of the American Association For the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
