Thimios A Mitsiadis

Chief-Editor of the “Frontiers of Craniofacial Biology and Dental Research”, Associate Editor of “Stem Cell Research”, Scientific Editor of “European Cells & Materials”, and part of the editorial board in additional 8 scientific journals. More than 110 original articles in journals such as “Journal of Cell Biology”, “Development”, “Developmental Biology”, “Nature Genetics”, “Science Signaling”, “Scientific Reports”, “Frontiers in Physiology” and more than 200 keynote and invited lectures.

Carlos Fernando Mourão

Dr. Mourao, a distinguished Brazilian dental surgeon, obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Universidade Estacio de Sa in 2005. He has over 15 years of private practice experience and has developed expertise in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) and Implant Dentistry.

Between 2014 and 2019, Dr. Mourao held the rank of Lieutenant (Officer) in the Brazilian Navy. He served as a dentist in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant Dentistry. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in Boston, United States.

Dr. Mourao's academic background encompasses a professorship in the Department of OMFS at Universidade Estacio de Sa from 2007 to 2012. Presently, he teaches in the graduate program in Dentistry at Sao Paulo University (USP) and Biotechnology at Fluminense Federal University (UFF).

He earned a Master's degree in Surgical Sciences (2012) from the School of Medicine at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil, where he acquired extensive experience in animal research with rabbits, rats, and pigs. Furthermore, he obtained a Ph.D. in Dentistry (2017) from UFF, Brazil, conducting clinical trials during his studies.

After his doctoral studies, Dr. Mourao completed two postdoctoral fellowships at UFF in Biotechnology (2017-2021) and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2018-2021). He has also demonstrated a strong aptitude for securing federal and private grants to support research projects.

As a researcher, Dr. Mourao's areas of specialization include blood-derived growth factors, bone regeneration, tissue engineering, bone graft analysis, dental implants, and oral surgery. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for a wide array of national and international academic journals.

Spyridon Ν. Papageorgiou

Spyros Papageorgiou’s main scientific interests encompass biological and mechanical aspects of orthodontic treatment, giving emphasis in improving treatment outcome and reducing treatment duration and side-effects. His focus is on evidence-based orthodontics founded on systematic reviews with conventional meta-analysis or network meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials, clinical trials assessing the comparative effectiveness or adverse effects of different orthodontic treatment modalities, factors influencing the length and outcome of orthodontic treatment, sources of bias in clinical research in orthodontics, optimization of treatment mechanics to enhance their efficiency by investigating clinical scenarios with numerical (finite element) simulations, and the effect of health and systematic diseases on the biology of orthodontic tooth movement.

Ajinkya M Pawar

Dr. Ajinkya Pawar is a dedicated researcher and enthusiastic adopter of new technologies which improve treatment results both for doctors and patients. He has decided to dedicate his work life to broaden and expand his knowledge for Endodontics. In his young span as Endodontist, he has already published more than 90 scientific studies in both National and International Indexed Journals with high Impact Factors, and a few more in press and under preparation, together with high ranked International Researchers.

He is passionate about learning new developments in Endodontics and he has travelled around the world pursuing this passion. He has attended various numerous National and International Conferences as a Student, Delegate, Keynote/Guest Speaker, Chairperson, and Moderator. He also serves as the Editorial Board member of various journals.

Dr. Ajinkya has been awarded with Fellowship by Pierre Fauchard Academy (India and USA Section) in 2016, Best Endodontist of the Year 2016, 2017, 2019 by FamDent India and India's Young Dental Researcher of the Year 2017.

Andreas Stavropoulos

After having completed his dental technology education, Andrea Stavropoulos studied dentistry in Heidelberg, Germany, Thessaloniki and Athens, Greece. After a few years of work in private practice limited to periodontics and implant dentistry, he joined the Department of Periodontology, School of Dentistry, Aarhus University, Denmark, where he received his postgraduate training. Andreas Stavropoulos received his Ph.D. in 2002 and his dr.odont. degree in 2011 from Aarhus University. In 2012, Andreas Stavropoulos joined Malmö University as the Professor and Chair of the Department of Periodontology. Andreas Stavropoulos has received several awards for his research, including the Anthony Rizzo Young Investigator Award from the Periodontal Research Group (PRG) of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) in 2006, the 1st Basic Research Prize of the European Association of Osseointegration in 2011, the Straumann Award in Regenerative Periodontal Medicine, conferred by the PRG of the IADR. Andreas Stavropoulos has authored several publications in international peer reviewed journals and book chapters, and he is member of the Editorial Boards of Journal of Clinical Periodontology, Clinical Oral Implants Research, Quintessence International, and PeerJ. Andreas Stavropoulos is a member of the Undergraduate Committee of the EFP, the Education Committee of the EAO, Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and he is currently the Councilor for PRG at IADR.

Luca Testarelli

Professor Testarelli is Associate at the 1st Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” since 2006. Dentist in Dental Clinic of Policlinico Umberto I’s Hospital of Rome since 2011. He completed a Ph.D with the highest marks at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (2004) and obtained a Specialization Diploma in Orthognathodontics, at the University of L’Aquila (2008). Professor Testarelli is a member of several scientific national and international associations, and a member of the editorial board for several dental scientific journals. He is also Professor of Dental Restorative, Endodontics in School of Dentistry in Sapienza University of Rome, Professor of Oral Care in School of Dental Hygienist in Sapienza University of Rome and Professor of PhD Dentistry in Sapienza University of Rome.

João Paulo Mendes Tribst

Dr. Tribst is a passionate dentist with Master's and PhD in restorative dentistry, with a specialty in dental prosthesis, from São Paulo State University. He has experience in dentistry with an emphasis on dental materials, dental prosthesis, dental ceramics, finite element analysis, dental implants, and mouthguards. He completed a sandwich PhD at ACTA (Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde Amsterdam), School of Dentistry at Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, Netherlands from 09/2018 to 09/2019. He is an Assistant Professor in the Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde Amsterdam (ACTA).
