Sergey Yu. Zaitsev graduated from the Moscow State University in 1980.
From 1980 to 1999 Zaitsev S.Yu. worked at different research positions (from junior to leading scientist) in the Shemyakin–Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. Since 01.09.1999 Zaitsev S.Yu. work as head of the Chemistry Department of the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after K.I. Scriabin (Moscow SAVMB).
Prof. Zaitsev has authored over 400 scientific and teaching publications, including 15 monographs, handbooks, and study guides; more than 200 articles; and 11 patents. Prof. Zaitsev has a total of 39 years' research and teaching experience. Prof. Zaitsev has supervised 17 Ph.D-students, about 100 Magister and Bachelor students. In 1991–1993 Prof. Zaitsev worked in universities and research institutes in the United States and Germany. Prof. Zaitsev is now a member of the Board of Experts in Chemistry of the Russian Ministry of Science and Education and in various Russian Science Foundations.
Fields of Interest and Expertise: Biochemistry, bio-nanotechnology, supramolecular systems, polymers and colloids.
