Abstract
In October 2014, the UK regional student group of the International Society for Computational Biology, held an inaugural meeting at the University of South Wales, UK. The meeting was targeted at the next generation of computational biologists in the UK, namely the post graduate students and post-doctoral researchers working in the UK. Delegates from 24 British institutes attended the event. This short report summaries the scientific content and activities of this student-led event and a short background of the initiative.
