Professor Marcelo Vidigal Caliari obtained a Master's degree in Patholoy and a Ph.D. in Cell Biology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He is presently in the Department of General Pathology and an advisor in the Graduate Program in Pathology at UFMG, plus a researcher of the National Council of Research and Development (CNPq). He uses advanced histological and immunohistological techniques, along with digital morphometry, to investigate the fine details of the pathogenesis of inflammation, especially those associated with parasitic and infectious processes.
