Summary
Currently, I am a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Knut Reinert at the Freie University of Berlin. I am working under his bioinformatics group.
I received my Masters degree from University of Trento, Italy in computer science. My specialization area was Bioinformatics.
Prior to starting pursuing my master’s study, I have three years of professional experience in software development. During my time with Cybersoft I was part of the development team that undertook big national projects like the E-Environment system of the country.
To mention my skills; Modeling and Simulation of biological systems using different modeling specifications and tools (R-Specification, L-Specification, Blenx, COSBI-LAB); Stochastic Simulation of biological systems using Gillespie’s algorithms; programming in Python, Java, C#, C++, PHP, ASP.NET; Developed a modeling tool for Tropos Methodology (an agent oriented software development methodology) using EMF/GMF of eclipse; Formal model checking and verification using (NuSMV and spin model); software modeling and designing tools like UML, database design and programming with MS-SQL, MySql are some of them.
Currently, I am developing a taxonomic profiling method. That is, given metagenomic reads obtained using whole-genome-shotgun (WGS) sequencing the method will report which microbes are present in the sample and in which proportion.
