Summary

Jose M. Rodriguez-Llanes is a Epidemiologist and Research Fellow at CRED, The Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters, at the Institute of Health and Society, Université catholique de Louvain. His research seeks to understand the health impacts of natural disasters and conflicts, as to make disaster response more effective by identifying most vulnerable groups in disaster and warfare. He also investigates the proximal and more distal factors driving the health consequences of disasters with the final aim to prevent or at least mitigate these impacts. Jointly with Prof. Guha-Sapir he coordinates an Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Public Health in Disasters, in partnership with Karonlinska Institute (Sweden) and University of Oviedo (Spain).
