Greater reproductive investment, but shorter lifespan, in agrosystem than in natural-habitat toads
In an effort to understand the factors behind the global decline in amphibians, researchers compared age, body size, and different indicators of reproductive investment, as well as prey availability, in natterjack toads from managed agrosystems and adjacent natural pine groves in Southwestern Spain.
I told my colleagues that PeerJ is a journal where they need to publish if they want their paper to be published quickly and with the strict peer review expected from a good journal.
