Summary

Humberto Sossa was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, in 1956. He received the B.S. degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering from the Universidad de Guadalajara (1981). He obtained the M.Sc. degree (1987) in Electrical Engineering at Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del IPN (Cinvestav-IPN) and the Ph.D. in Informatics (1992) from the Nacional Polytechnical Institute of Grenoble, France. Since 1996, he is a full-time professor at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional of Mexico. His main research fields of interest are digital image analysis, machine learning, and pattern recognition.
