Hai-tao Shi
Summary
Haitao Shi is mainly engaged in the scientific research and teaching of zoology and ecology. His research focus is on the ecology, taxonomy, and protection of turtles, as well as the protection, legislation, policy, law enforcement, and management of wildlife and ecological environment conservation. He has published more than 210 papers and 11 books and textbooks. He has led and completed more than 40 scientific research projects, including major international cooperation projects of NSFC in addition to projects from the Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Agriculture.
Haitao Shi is a member of the Scientific Committee on endangered species of the people's Republic of China and the Scientific Committee on endangered species of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. He is an executive member of both the council of the Chinese Society of Zoology and council of the National Branch of Amphibians and Reptiles. He is Vice Chairman of Association for Science and Technology of Hainan Province, a consultant expert for legislation of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial People's Congress, the chairman of the Hainan Zoological Society, and an editorial board member of Asian Herpetological Research.
