Department of Food Science
The Department of Food Science (DAPQ) focuses on the quality of both animal and plant agricultural products with regard to the requirements laid down in the Common Agricultural Policy and European legislation. The aim is to cover food safety and quality of agricultural products "from field to fork". For this purpose, the department brings together both experts on agricultural production and the quality of agricultural raw materials, as well as specialists having knowledge of the technology, processing and analytical chemistry concerning food quality and safety. This logical connection with the primary food sector offers graduates a wide opportunity to find a job in agriculture, food processing and retailing as well as in food and agriculture control, inspection and legislative institutions.
