Yalçın Tepe
Summary
Dr. Yalçın Tepe received his Bachelor's Degree in Aquaculture in 1993 from Ankara University, Turkey. He received his Master's Degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries and Wildlife Biology in 1998 from Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USA and his Doctoral Degree in Fisheries and Allied Aquaculture in 2002 from Auburn University, Auburn, AL, USA. On completion of his fellowship, he accepted a position as an Assistant Professor in the College of Aquaculture in Mustafa Kemal University, Turkey. After a 4-year in this position, he became an Associate Professor in the same University. He is currently working in the Biology Department at Giresun University, where he became a full professor in 2011. He was also the founding director of two different colleges of applied sciences and currently the department head of foreign languages at his university. He has been involved in both national and international researches mainly focused on water quality and water supply in aquaculture, and in recent years, his emphasis has shifted some to include aquacultural environmental issues such as assessment and monitoring of heavy metal contaminations in fish through coastal areas of the four different Turkish Seas. He is a member of WAS, World Aquaculture Association and Sednet, European Sediment Network.
