How street tree characteristics influence average PM2.5 concentration at different height in urban street canyon : A simulation study
Abstract
To strengthen the pollution control of PM2.5 in urban road spaces, this paper explores the reduction effect of urban street trees from the perspective of their specification characteristics. The study utilizes ENVI-met software and employs a single control variable method to systematically analyze the impact of tree species, tree height, clear bole height, canopy shape, Crown Diameter, leaf area index (LAI), and leaf area density (LAD) on PM2.5 concentration. The optimal single-tree street tree configuration scheme is obtained as follows: selecting the Magnolia grandiflora tree species, with a tree height of 5 meters, a clear bole height of 5 meters, an Spreading canopy, a Crown Diameter of 5 meters, an LAI of 0.8, and dense leaves in the upper part of the canopy. This study provides a scientific basis and practical reference for the selection of street trees aimed at air pollution control.
