Summary

Rachel Parsons is a microbial oceanographer at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS). She presently runs the microscopy facility at BIOS. She also investigates the microbial communities in the open ocean at BATS sites using a variety of molecular techniques (FISH, PCR, T-RFLP). In 2011, she published a paper on ten years of viral dynamics at the BATS site and in 2014, she published a paper looking at microbial communities within a seasonally anoxic sound.
