Summary
Senior researcher at the Department of Biology, University of Rome "Tor Vergata", qualified as Associate Professor in 2012. Member of the Administrative Board of the Tor Vergata University (2008-2013) and elected delegate at the National University Council for the Area BIO (2 mandates: 2010-2015 and 2015-2019), to experience all the 'thrills' of the academic life!
Graduated in Biological Science at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", I moved to Federico II University of Naples and then to Rome, at the Tor Vergata University.
Now I have a comprehensive laboratory (ecotoxicology, analytical chemistry, microbiology) where different research field are conducted: in the lab, 'bio' students work side by side with the students of the course of Restoration of Library Heritage.
Furthermore, I worked for 20 years for the Institute of the Italian Encyclopaedia (Treccani), as responsible of the biological section, and then for the Medical Encyclopaedia (UTET).
In spite of the 10 years spent working away from home and my ‘nomadic’ attitude, my home and personal life always remained in Rome. Since more than 30 years I’m married with Roberto Tamburi, software engineer, and I have a wonderful daughter, Federica, art director.
