Summary

I am currently responsible for strategy for management, access and use of biological resources and related project development in the Bioservices group at CABI UK. I am past President of the World Federation for Culture Collections WFCC (2004-2010) and a Fellow of the Society of Biology. I am a steering committee member of the Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure (MIRRI) dedicated to create a quality-driven, decentralised centre for resources and information to facilitate access to microbial material within Europe. The anticipated impact being fundamental change in the operations of microbial resource collections so that they underpin and improve the microbiological sciences, impact on bioeconomies, input to integrated solutions to the grand challenges and generate knowledge from data.
