Summary
I am currently an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery. My primary focus is on neuro-oncology and skull base pathologies where I specialize in endoscopic and minimally invasive approaches. I work with a large multi-disciplinary team of other surgeons and oncology experts. I also perform procedures in spine, pain management, vascular neurosurgery and radiosurgery. I have served as faculty at the University of Utah, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in addition to Drexel University College of Medicine.
I completed my residency at the University of Utah in neurosurgery with an enfolded fellowship in minimally invasive/complex spine and Masters in Bioengineering specifically in medical device development. Afterwards, I completed a fellowship in skull base and neuro-oncology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
My research interests are in molecular characterization and targeted therapy, improving healthcare outcomes, reducing healthcare disparities, and reducing surgical complications in neuro-oncology. I also have interest in novel surgical approaches and devices. I have over 180 publications, 12 book chapters, and a surgical textbook. My research also includes clinical trials where I have served as a co-investigator on several trauma, critical care, and neuro-oncology clinical trials.
