Susceptibility to infection of invertebrate locusts with the parasite Neospora caninum
It has been found that locusts can be infected with N. caninum, which causes infertility and abortion in cattle & neuromuscular disorders in dogs. Therefore, the locust could act as a model organism for this parasite.
