The variability of inner ear orientation in saurischian dinosaurs
In recent years, the orientation of the lateral semicircular canal in the inner ear has been used as a calibration point to compare the orientation of features in the skull of non-avian dinosaurs. However, this study shows large variability in that metric, suggesting an alternative method to compare dinosaur skulls. Read more in this peer-reviewed study by Marugan-Lobon, Chiappe and Farke
