Summary
Background
My clinical background is in intensive care and midwifery, and I have a PhD in Biological Anthropology. I am currently the Academic Lead for Year 2 Communication for Clinical Practice, which is a mixture of course-designer, coordinator, tutor and assessor.
Teaching
Communication for Clinical Practice (CCP) is an important aspect of the undergraduate medical curriculum (MBChB) at the University of Liverpool. The Year 2 module is aimed at preparing the student for the clinical setting and draws upon research in clinical communication including work carried out in the Institute of Psychology, Health and Society that focuses on how communication in the clinical setting can better meet patients’ needs and perspectives.
