Summary

I'm a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the School of Information Technology at Deakin University, Australia. Previously, I was a Research Fellow at The University of Toronto (2017-2019) and at The University of Melbourne (2015-2017) and before that, I was a postdoc researcher at INRIA France (2014-2015). I earned a Ph.D. and an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Paris-Saclay France respectively in 2013 and 2009, and a BSc in Computer Science from USTHB Algeria in 2008. My research spans a broad range of topics related to the data-driven fields of Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Information Retrieval. I have applied analytic and algorithmic tools from these fields to solve real-world problems related to diverse applications such as recommender systems, interactive visual search interfaces, social network analysis, and data quality.
