Summary

Serafino Cicerone is an associate professor of Computer Engineering at the Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics of the University of L'Aquila. He graduated in Computer Science from the University of L'Aquila in 1993 and the PhD from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1998. In general, his research interests revolve around the specification, design, verification and implementation of efficient algorithms. Specific areas of interest include distributed algorithms, combinatorial optimization, algorithm engineering, algorithmic graph theory and their applications, spatial and geometric data. He has participated in several EU-funded projects, is (co-)author of over 80 publications appeared in international journals, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, book chapters. He served as guest editor of journals' special issues and he is a member of scientific committees of conferences related to his research areas.
