Dong Van Quyen
Summary
Assoc prof. Dr. Quyen is currently a principal investigator at Institute of Biotechnology, Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology. Dr Quyen holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Sungkyunkwan University-School of Medicine, South Korea. After obtaining his PhD in 2006, Dr. Assoc prof. Dr. Quyen received his postdoctoral training at Department of Bacteria and Parasitology, National Veterinary Research and Quarantine Service (South Korea) and Health Science Center, University of Tennessee (USA) working on molecular biology of Neospora and angiogenesis. He returned Vietnam in 2010 and since then head of Molecular Microbiology Laboratory, Institute of Biotechnology (IBT), Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. His Lab specializes in study the host-microbe interactions and development and applications of biological products and diagnostic tests for microbial pathogens using molecular biology techniques. Another research interest of Assoc prof. Dr. Quyen is application of modern technologies such as adeno-associated viral vectors and virus-like particles for production of safe and highly efficient vaccines.
Dr. Quyen is also a visiting lecturer at Hai Duong Medical and Technical University, and Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. Since 2014 he was assigned as co-Director of Department of Life Sciences, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH).
Assoc prof. Dr. Quyen has edited three books and published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and domestic journal such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Nucleic Acid Research (NAR), Veterinary of Microbiology (Vetmic), Archives of Virology (Arch Virol), Scientific Reports (Sci Rep), PeerJ, Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC).
