Summary
My research interests focus on understanding adaptation of herbivorous insects and natural enemies to elevated CO2 and transgenic Bt crop stresses from the perspective of behavior, and ecological physiology. One objective is to explore the mechanisms of the reduce in Bt toxin content of transgenic Bt crops (here Bt cotton and Bt rice) grown in elevated CO2. The other is to examine the impacts of soil nitrogen fertilization and spraying special chemical regulation on the Bt gene expression of transgenic Bt crops especially under elevated CO2, in order to improve the Bt gene expression for the Bt crops and enhance the resistance ability against the target and non-target insect pests especially under elevated CO2
